Thanks again to everyone who responded to my request for roofer recommendations. I've had some requests for the list to be sent out to the listserv, so here it is:

We have used Schultheis Brothers. We have an older home and a slate
roof and have never had a problem.

We used Burns & Scalo after previous winter damage; not cheap, but
very good work on our tile roof.

Sangl roofing (Joe), they're a family business and based in HP, long
standing specialty in slate, too.

We use Likar Roofing for our slate roof. They are good but it takes
them a while to get to you.

Likar in North Versailles. We have slate and have used Likar.

We use Likar.

I can highly recommend Jason our roofer. We have slate shingles and
he has worked on our house, neighbors and my parents. Jason's number

Sangle roofing. Sorry I don't have their number handy, but they are
honest and reasonable.
