To sign up to be a Snow Angel or have your walk shoveled by one, please read the announcement below - and please mention the HPCC when you sign-up!! Applications for the 2021-2022 Snow Angels Program, now managed by the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Public Works, are open now. This program pairs older adult residents and residents with disabilities with nearby volunteer Snow Angels to help them shovel and salt their property throughout the winter. In order to request help from a Snow Angel, neighbors must: - Be at least 60 years old or have a physical disability - Live within City of Pittsburgh limits - Lack other resources (financial or family/friends nearby) to assist with snow removal Volunteers and neighbors in need can register for the program online at https://pittsburghpa.gov/snowangels/ <https://gcc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpittsburg…> or by calling the City’s 311 Response Center. Hello Neighbors, BikePGH is still in need of 10 items to use for a demonstration for their World Day of Remembrance Display. On average 20 Pittsburghers pass away due to traffic fatalities every year. To remember those who we have lost as a result of these crashes, BikePGH will be hosting a demonstration on Sunday, November 21st. *They are collecting used shoes, canes, crutches, wheelchairs, strollers, bikes, walkers, car seats, helmets, etc. to paint white in honor of those who lost their life in traffic crashes. *If you have items to donate please contact Natalie (the events and volunteer coordinator) at natalie(a)bikepgh.org to arrange a drop off/pick up time. They would like to receive your donations by Wednesday, November 17th. They need about 10 more items to make the display as impactful as possible. Highland Park: St. Andrew's Day Bagpipe celebration

Neighbors, please join us this Sunday (November 21) as we celebrate St. Andrew's Day. The Syrian Highlanders will perform on the lawn of St. Andrew's (5801 Hampton St.) after both morning services. So at 9 and 11 you can stop by the front of the Church and listen to the bagpipe music. Please note that unlike in previous years they will not be playing during the services. Thank you and we hope to see you there.
