Dear Eastside customers and members of the community, As the property manager of Eastside, I would like to address a concern posted on this message board. Customers of Eastside can feel confident that they can park anywhere and use any of the businesses onsite without being ticketed or towed. There have not been any incidents of an individual parking and being ticketed or towed while patronizing a business at Eastside. Eastside does monitor its parking lots to ensure that there is adequate parking for Eastside's businesses. Eastside will only enforce its parking when an individual parks and leaves the site. Anyone parking on the upper or lower level may patronize any business on site without having to worry about their car being ticketed or towed. Cars will only be ticketed or towed if it is clear that an individual has parked and left the site. Like any business, it is important that our customers and tenants are satisfied. Hello, I am getting a new refrigerator on Saturday. My current one works, but is too small (about 16-17 cubic feet) and is missing the guard rails on the door shelves. Home Depot will haul it away for me, but before they do I wondered if anyone could use it. It would be good for a basement refrigerator. Please let me know. Don't assume that you can use the parking lot at Eastside for an extended period EVEN IF you are planning to shop there. The site manager Dan Friday has informed me that they are now using video monitoring and will ticket ($93) anyone who is observed walking away from the lot. Apparently, some people have been using it as a park and ride point for the busway. When I asked about leaving the upper lot to enter the businesses on the lower level, Mr. Friday could not promise that a car would not be ticketed anyway, especially if you are seen crossing the street at any point Laurel Roberts, Ph.D. University of Pittsburgh Dept. Thanks for all the recommendations from the neighborhood. I just had an outstanding experience with Corey Culley of DC Lawn works, a young man in his own business. His prices were much better than others.(I had 7 estimates for the job). He and his colleague Dennis were easy to work with--reliable, careful overall and careful of surrounding bushes, trees and plants. His removal of trees for us was thorough, thought out and complete. [Highland Park] air conditioning

I would appreciate any recommendations about installing air conditioning in a house without ductwork. I had thought of installing a split system, but the companies I've spoken to so far don't recommend that and they've had little experience with them. One company highly recommends Unicum high pressure ducts. The others do not. Some companies recommend Trane, others Lennox, others Carrier. Has anyone used Metro, Beam or Titan for installation?

[Highland Park] A couple of things

There are a couple of things I would like to say; they are somewhat related. #1: Please take care to dispose of/store your trash properly. Don't put it out earlier than we're supposed to, rinse out recyclable containers, etc. #2: Please make sure your dog(s) are controlled, and not running around the neighborhood loose. Loose dogs go into/onto other's property and do their business, (I've cleaned up their stuff from both my front and back yards quite a few times) get into garbage that is not properly stored, and are in danger of getting hit by cars and/or kidnapped, not to mention run-ins with children and other animals. #3: There ARE rats in the Highland Park area. They not only get into garbage that is not properly stored, but pose a hazard to everyone, especially children and loose pets. On Mellon alone, there are 3 families with dogs that run loose. All of the dogs are sweet, and--having just lost my dog to liver cancer--it would really upset me to find one of them dead or injured from one of the many cars that speed up Mellon on the way to the bridge.
