Hey everyone, During the February winter storm one of our smaller gutters disconnected from the main gutter and now needs to be reconnected. I am asking on behalf of my father and it looks fairly easy to fix, but we need someone who is reliable and is able to get the job done the first time around. Hello everyone! My husband, daughter and I have lived in the Point Breeze area for a little over a year now while I attend graduate school at CMU. Recently a number of friends in the Highland Park neighborhood have encouraged us to consider relocating, and so we are, in fact, considering! Here's where we could use your help. We have a lease that expires at the end of May and would be looking for a new place to lease for the coming year. We're interested in a 3-bedroom (or 2 bed+den/office) home with 1+ bath, W/D hookups, lots of storage that is also pet-friendly. We have a well-behaved, potty-trained, Boston Terrier who is part of our family, so we need a place that will accept small (less than 25 lbs) pets. We'd prefer a standalone house or duplex, but would be willing to consider all options. If you have, or know of someone who has, a rental property that matches this description, please let us know! We'd be happy to provide more information upon request, and there are a number of residents would would be willing to vouch for us. Thanks for your help. Hi, The Highland Park Community Council will have a booth at the Festival to, in part, provide material on how to conduct a block party. That said, I would appreciate any input from those of you that have had block parties in the past. No sense reinventing the wheel when there are experienced members of the community that might be willing to share their knowledge. With the Festival close at hand I would appreciate any and all input by May 10th. [Highland Park] rhubarb

I took out a large rhubarb from my garden this morning and the split plants are free for the taking. The rhubarb is red-stemmed from the start and has very large green leaves. It's quite decorative as well as making good stems for stewing or preserves (just make sure they are ripe and remember the leaves are poisonous). It comes up in early spring. I split the plant into about 4 equal grocery bags and they are on the lawn in a cardboard box at 1437 Greystone. I can't guarantee they will grow -- the roots were deeper and bigger than anticipated and I had to cut some of them -- but they are free if you want them. If no one takes them, I'll put them out for garbage pick-up. Morgen

This is my mother's dress worn to 1 time to attend a wedding. It is chiffon, mauve, size 10. The matching shoes are suede size 7 1/2 French shoes by Arche. They look pink in the photo but they are mauve also. The dress was $350 and the shoes were $200. She would like $100 or best offer for the dress and $40 for the shoes.
