Hi Highland Park, La Escuelita Arcoiris <http://www.laescuelitapgh.org/>, a spanish immersion preschool through kindergarten here in Pittsburgh is looking to move from it's current location in the lower level of the Church of the Redeemer in Squirrel Hill to another space. Ideally, the space would have 8 classrooms and outdoor space. It would be great to locate them here in Highland Park! Yesterday, we explored the old Craig Academy on Negley, it's a huge building with lots of potential. However, their are a lot of tenants needed to sign up for that building if a sale would go through... If you know of a congregation or a building that has space available, please let me know. Hello my generous neighbors, A friend of mine is coming in for a visit from Germany for the entire month of June. She is looking to buy/borrow a baby car seat. It is for her 9 month old daughter. so i guess an infant seat? for up to one year she said. Does anyone happen to have one available? Or know of anyone who may? Thanks for any and all help!!! Taryn

I’m posting this for a friend who is looking for part time summer and/or school year childcare. Thanks! (Squirrel Hill, near CMU; vehicle required) Our family is in search of an extended family member! We need a warm, caring responsible person to help us with childcare for our 8 year old son for the summer and upcoming school year(s). During the summer, the job entails picking him up after camp, bringing him home or to his activities and being with him until 6 PM. Typical hours will be Monday through Friday 3:30-6:00 although some days may be earlier depending on which camp he is in and there is an opportunity for additional hours. During the school year, we are looking for someone to bring him home after school, supervise his homework, and help transport him to and from activities. Again, the hours will be from 3:30-6:00 Monday through Thursday and 2:30-6 on Friday. Thank you everyone for your responses! Here is an overview: Most people responded saying Park Brugge should open in August, though one person read in the Shady Ave Magazine that it was set to open in July. A few others said they spoke with the owners of Point Brugge and they reported it will open at the "end of summer" but nothing more specific. If I get a chance to stop over at Point Brugge myself I'll try to get a more concrete answer and report back. It sounds like it will just be a wait-and-see situation though. As Tony mentioned it does look like there has been a halt to the work but I have not heard anything official saying work has been paused. Updates when/if anyone hears something specific and official about the opening would be appreciated by many of us here on the list. [Highland Park] Dumping

Recently (Monday) a load of cut bamboo was dumped behind my house in the 800 block of Roxanna Way. This is an alley that runs from Jackson to Janero Way and is between Portland and Mellon Streets. This cut bamboo pile---the heap the size of a small car--- was dumped in an elderly neighbor's parking pad--- This parking pad is often a site for unwanted trash. Has anyone had their bamboo cut back? If so please remove this pile. Thank you.
