First, the state Department of Human Services estimates that 5,000-20,000 households statewide will be disenrolled from SNAP due to ineligibility because of a federal cost-of-living increase to Social Security. For these cases, January will be the final month of eligibility. Additionally, approximately 249,000 households will see a decrease in their monthly SNAP benefit, with the average reduction being $40 per household, which will take effect in March 2023 following the end of COVID-19 SNAP Emergency Allotments. While state officials work with our federal representatives to advocate for additional resources from the federal government, there are other programs in place to provide additional aid for eligible seniors, which this change impacts the most. The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides eligible seniors with vouchers redeemable at more than 800 farm stands and 200 farmers’ markets in Pennsylvania. Additionally, the Senior Food Box Program, which is administered by Area Agencies on Aging at the local level, can also provide eligible seniors with additional shelf-stable groceries. We are THRILLED to announce our FIRST Highland park house concert of the year – a minor miracle given the last few years. And we are hoping for better luck this year (given 2/4 from ’22 were cancelled). We have about 10 seats left so let us know!!! The concert is February 4 FROM 7-10 PM Our artist is Matt Moran – his CD from last year was probably my favorite Matt Moran is a regionally know alt-country singer-songwriter with 300+ shows and a full US tour under his belt.He is currently promoting his first full-fledged album Heartache Kidreleased May 2022 as a follow up to his 2020 acoustic album "Black Sheep."The "Heartache Kid" album has made Saving Country Music's list of "Most Anticipated Albums in 2022" and Outsider.com<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?…>'s list of "Best Albums of May 2022."Heartache Kid is a ten track album that explores what Moran calls "existential country."
