We have an old couch (comes with a sage green slip cover) and a futon that we don't have room for anymore. Both were used in apartments in college and in our first house. The futon has a nice wooden, maroon mattress, and two pillows. If anyone is interested, please reply back. Sara

[Highland Park] Looking to start a 2/3 preschool coop

Hi, I am looking to start a parent led preschool coop for my 2 year, 8 month old daughter. We've had a great playgroup, but everyone seems to be moving into a preschool, so am looking to develop something regular that is home-based. I am looking at 2 days a week - probably Tuesday and Thursday - for 2 or 3 hours. It would be for 3 to 5 other kids (for a total of no more than 6). At least two parents would stay, perhaps starting with 3 while we get to know each other better. In order to participate, a parent would need to be available both to stay and to host. A little about myself - I have been a parent for 13 years and have 3 children, and this is for my youngest (my sons are 13 and 10). I coach a robotics group (First Lego League), am currently a Cubmaster and Den Leader for Cub Scouts, was the treasurer for my sons' elementary school PTO and volunteered in the classroom often and have my clearances through the public school and have been screened through Cub Scouts. I am looking for the group to be structured, but play-based with at least one field trip per month (the Zoo, the Science Center, Children's Museum, etc) and a lot of outside time as well as crafts/activities for the kids to do. We would probably meet a few times once a week before the winter holidays with everyone as sort of a play date and get to know you time and then move to a drop-off schedule twice a week come January.
