February 16, 2011 - 8:40pm | by Mosser Casting FILM FRIENDS WHO WANT MOVIES TO CONTINUE COMING TO PITTSBURGH: It was been reported that there are as many as five feature films now scouting in Pittsburgh, including the next installment in the "Batman" series, "Dark Knight Rises". It has been released that Governor Corbett has put a freeze on the PA Film Tax Credit until after the budget is finalized next month. The producers of at least two of the films that are currently scouting have said that if the money is not released they WILL go elsewhere and Pittsburgh will lose millions of dollars in revenue. Crew people, actors, vendors, hotels, and extras will lose countless jobs. Call, write, fax, or email your state representives (members of the House and Senate), as well as Governor Corbett and tell them to release the tax credit so we can all work on films this spring and summer. Hi! My husband and I would like to thank the kind young men that helped shovel our side walk after the Monday-Tuesday snow storm. I have been out of town and my husband has had a back injury so this display of kindness was truly appreciated! By the time Mark made it the door with a payment, they were gone! We are new to the neighborhood and have felt so welcomed. This gesture was greatly appreciated! We hope to pass on the good deed during the next storm. Thank you!
