Hello neighbors, I am helping a group of siblings acclimate to life in the US. They are doing wonderfully but we are all having difficulty navigating an issue with dental insurance and I am wondering whether anyone may be able to help. They received basic dental care for free through Catholic Charities, which was wonderful. But each person needs more extensive additional care (braces, tooth extractions, etc) and this is where we have run into trouble. It is the most headspinning instance of Catch-22: CC works only with AGH. But AGH won't see the family b/c they have UPMC insurance. They also refuse to send the referrals to UPMC. And UPMC can't provide treatment without the referrals. But UPMC won't call CC to request the referrals b/c CC works with AGH. But CC won't send the referrals to UPMC b/c they only work with AGH...and on and on... Soo...does anyone know of a dentist who offers reduced fee evaluations? We already know what they need, we just need a referral! We have also tried going through the Pitt Dental School free clinic, but we can't get them to call us back (after leaving half a dozen messages). Thank you all for any help you can provide. PennDOT - District 11 News *Southbound Route 28 Lane Restriction this Week in Allegheny County* *Pittsburgh, PA* – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a single-lane restriction on southbound Route 28 in Aspinwall Borough and O’Hara Township, Allegheny County, will occur Tuesday through Thursday, April 11-13 weather permitting. A single-lane restriction will occur on southbound Route 28 from the Virginia Avenue on-ramp to the Highland Park Bridge interchange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Crews will conduct sound barrier work. Please allow extra time and use caution when traveling through the work zone. To help keep motorists informed as work progresses, PennDOT has created an email distribution list for Route 28 traffic advisories and construction updates. Enroll by sending email addresses to stcowan(a)pa.gov. Please write “Subscribe – Route 28” in the subject line.
