I am looking for a reasonable room to rent for about 3 weeks in August. I am a single 63 year old woman who is here as a visitor with her 11 year old granddaughter who stays with her dad and stepmom about half the time, but will be with me quite often. Greetings Neighbors! The Nuin Center is running a short fundraiser to raise money for one of our practitioners who is ill and requires expensive medical treatment to heal. We have a table of gently used items and invite you to help yourself for a small donation of your choice ($1 minimum): -- stuffed bears and other kids toys -- books: novels, alternative medicine, travel -- used Real Simple magazines -- candles -- jewelry: buttons, earrings, necklaces, pins, bracelets -- mobiles and dreamcatchers -- mugs & candles -- an assortment of knick-knacks for cat and dog lovers -- a few pieces of small art with inspirational quotes The fundraiser runs until Wednesday, August 10. The clean box spring is currently sitting on the porch at 1132 Mellon St. It has a few cosmetic tears on the thin bottom fabric from carrying it down stairs, but otherwise it is in perfect condition. If it doesn't get picked up before Sunday, it will go to the curb. [Highland Park] found kitten

A very small gray and white tabby kitten with a white chest showed up on my porch at 722 N. Euclid. She is very very friendly and stayed overnight when I fed her and gave her a blanket to sleep on. Something is wrong with her right eye and she seems to have a sniffle. I will be taking her to the shelter when it opens this morning as I have 2 cats already. She seems too friendly not to have been around people.

[Highland Park] Free: TV stand and Kason display rack

Hi there! Looking for a unique way to organize your clutter? Try this Kason display rack - we think it may have been used for bread at some point, because the shelves are tilted forward to show what's on them. For awhile I used it to hold parts in trays for a project, because it was really easy to see what was in the trays. It's not the same as the item you get by Googling 'Kason display rack' - it's a big, floorstanding unit. Comes apart to get it into your home (because it HAD to come apart to get it into mine!) - but has sturdy metal hardware to put it back together where it had been cut apart. Wood is weathered from a previous owner keeping it outside, but it's structurally fine (and only a can of spray paint away from being whatever color your heart desires!) Speaking of organizers, I still have the TV stand from last week, and it's still free. Metal uprights, casters, could be a nice place to store a few books. I really would like these gone today! Both items are free and if you're really, honestly unable to transport them, I'll throw them in my truck and bring them to you within the Highland Park area. Thanks- Charles

Hello neighbors! Even after our big yard sale earlier this month, I *still*managed to find more SuperYard Gates in the basement! I have 8 more panels - 5$ a panel. Contact me if interested. (Also, I still have a lot of boy clothes from newborn to 2T) And my husband and I wanted to thank our *amazing *community for all the great recommendations for plumbers, auto body shops and contractors.
