Hello Neighbors! I'm getting married in November and we are renting out a space that we will share with other customers. We need room dividers for one area. I'm not sure how large it is, but I think we could use at least an 8' divider. I'm willing to work my artistic measures and put two or three together. If you have any that you'd like to get rid of, know where I can rent them for a good price or have any other ideas, let me know! Thanks Caroline

Hi there neighbors, My youngest is on a wait list for the Early Childhood Program at the Reizenstein site. Does anyone out there have experience with these waitlists? I am not sure if I should hold out and hope for space or give up now and look for another program. Due to the budget cuts and they have had to downsize the program and are giving first priority to returning kids and lower-income families. In the event we don't get in, I am looking for recommendations for a full-time, 5-day Pre-K program. Your thoughts are most welcome! Thanks, Lori

We are a friendship-based social group that rehearses and performs for the teamwork, camaraderie and joy of music, not for money. We are a very small semi-professional choral group, and we sing an eclectic variety of mostly secular and some sacred music. We perform in assisted living, shelters, and other venues, etc (e.g. Pittsburgh Public Market, Bryant Street Festival, among others.) We're still in search of the elusive tenor! Why are they so hard to find? How about even a baritone willing to push your limits? See our website: www.friendsinharmony.net A car or ride is necessary, and you must be able to sing or learn to sing in a trained style. Sight-singing ability is a plus, but free vocal coaching and/or sight-singing training can be provided. Must have passion for the project, and be committed to making a team with winning chemistry, both musically and personally. [Highland Park] FREE Large Wooden "Teacher" Desk

We have a large wooden teacher desk available for pick up on our porch. It is approx. 4' long x 2.5' wide. It has a large middle pencil drawer, two drawers on one side and three drawers on the other. The top has been removed to facilitate moving but is easily re-attached. The top has laminate over wood, but could be easily replaced with solid wood. Good condition but just too large for our room. 909 North Negley Avenue between Jackson and Avondale.

PWSA charged $5 a month for a program that a first year law student would recognize as illegal. How their PA "super lawyer" Solicitor did not see this is more than a little suspect, but we will let the state Attorney Generals office sort that out. This issue has already resulted in the resignation of the Authority's Manager. Within days of the judges decision Lines Utility declared bankruptcy. Big surprise there. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11080/1133608-100.stm We all should be entitled to a refund, but any refund would surely come from our water and sewer bills any way. Is the PWSA suing Michael Kenney? If not, why not? He failed to disclose his personal involvement in Lines Utility. Is the PWSA suing its Solicitor? He failed to provide sound legal advice. And moreover why is he still in your employ? It is time to clean house and move on! The PWSA should be acting in OUR best interest! They need to get OUR money back from the thieves that took it. The PWSA knew this was a bad idea for a year, yet kept this program active.

[Highland Park] Car Break-in

On Saturday night/Sunday morning between midnight and 7 am our car was ransacked. Only thing missing was small change. There was nothing visible or of value in the car. This happened several times last year but the door locks were pried out. I hope it is not starting again. We thought the doors were locked, but now we are questioning ourselves. Does someone walk through the neighborhood and try to open car doors hoping to find an unlocked door? If it was unlocked, then it would be the first time it was ever left unlocked, and then coincidentally the car was ransacked. Heberton Street

Thank you everyone who responded to my query about "snaking"! There were almost as many people who wrote me asking that I pass along the recommendations I got. Here they are. Meanwhile, I was away for 8 days so I didn't get a chance to do this in a very timely fashion. I ended up hiring Tom of Ocean Breeze just for the downspout before leaving town. I think my problem may have been just that. But here are other names as well. The first two with stars were recommended by two people each. **Mark Seigle*, 412-681-9091 **Kangaroo Plumbing* *Thomas Plumbing* is locally owned (morningside) and very reasonable. They were the #1 recommended on the list about a month ago. 412-567-1139 *(but they did not return my call--Irina)* We have had the same problem and used *Roto-Rooter*. Yea, they’re a bit more expensive than a regular plumber BUT you’re never turned away because they’re too busy (a common problem with plumbers), they arrive as scheduled, and there’s NO charge if they can’t fix the problem. *Ocean Breeze HI* 412-805-5602 They just finished doing the same at 1212 Heberton. 4 drains cleaned *A-1 sewer*. There not in the business to sell you French drains or plumbing. There honest. very helpful neighbors, as always--Irina
