Tonight's HPCC Community meeting will be at 7 pm at the Bryant Street Parklet. While the meeting is primarily a social one, you'll also get updates from the HPCC and Zone 5, plus people from many local organizations who we've invited to introduce themselves and their programs, including: - Highland Park fishing classes - Highland Park ranger - The Compost People - The Highland Park/East Liberty Bike/Pedestrian Committee - Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium - Zumba in the park Also, just in time for pride month, the HPCC will be selling limited edition Highland Park pride signs: [image: image.png] Signs cost $15; proceeds over our costs will be donated to the Hugh Lane Wellness Foundation. new business at 5810 Bryant Street

Hello neighbors, my name is Laurie Sloan and I recently opened a storefront called The Roost, at 5810 Bryant Street. The Roost is filled with vintage home goods, furniture, and clothing, as well as products from other Pittsburgh-area businesses (pottery, caramels from Goat Rodeo Cheese, and coffee beans from Ohiopyle Coffee Roasters). This shop has had many iterations over the years - online, at flea markets around the city, and now finally as a brick and mortar in my own neighborhood! I've been a Highland Park resident for the last decade, and my husband and I feel fortunate to be raising our 4 young children here. My hope for The Roost is that those who walk through the door discover items that are full of beauty and character and function, and can purchase them knowing it was a sustainable choice. As I work programming into the store (i.e. adult and kid classes using secondhand materials, book/gardening talks, new neighbor/new parent meetups, and clothing/equipment swaps) I hope that The Roost also becomes a place where communities can gather. It is a small but mighty space, and I hope you will be able to stop down to say hello sometime soon! Someone nailed the panel shut. This year’s Highland Park Yard Sale will take place on Sunday, June 2nd, and sales will start at 9am. Like most years in the past, the yard sale will happen on the same day as the Bryant Street Festival, so please invite your friends and family! If you prefer to register by mail/in-person, please fill out the Registration Form from the May 2024 HPCC Mailer. Please drop off or send in the form and a check made out to the HPCC for $20 to: Jason Griess, 827 Farragut St, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. *Registration closes on May 30th. *You do not need to register to shop at the Yard Sale, only to sell! Listings will be made available the day of the event both online and in hard copy (limited). This year, registrants can pick up their yard signs from designated houses in the neighborhood. Once you register, you will receive an email with instructions on where to pick up and drop off yard signs! It is VERY IMPORTANT to return the yard signs once the yard sale is done so HPCC can make them last as long as possible. If you would like to participate in the Highland Park Yard Sale but do not have an appropriate space to set up a table, you can use the registration link above to register for space at the flea market, which will be located at the corner of Bryant St and N Highland Avenue. You are welcome to bring your own table at no additional cost, or rent a table from us for an additional $10. Don’t forget to also check out the Bryant Street Festival, taking place during the yard sale on Bryant Street from Highland to North St. Clair, with a flea market, food, other vendors, and live music.
