Hi neighbors - Morningside's Scouting America (formerly Scouts BSA) troops 3945 and 9945 will be back at Tazza D'Oro this Saturday 9/14 from 9-2 with a fall mum sale! We had a great response from the neighborhood in the spring with our annual sale, so we're returning with mums, great for fall decorating. Thanks again for being so supportive of the scouts. Suminagashi is simple, requiring only two materials and a small number of tools. It is easy to learn, and emphasizes the meditative or relaxing qualities of the process—creating designs that are organic, irregular, and unpredictable—rather than complex patterns. It can also be modified by using different papers or fabrics, and using different colored inks. *Saturday, October 5, 1-3 pm, Rangolis with Rangoli **Register for free here. <https://assemblepgh.org/programs/saturday-crafternoons/>* Rangoli is a traditional South Asian art form consisting of colorful geometric designs made using powder sprinkled on the ground, typically during Hindu festivals. Just like Rangoli Pittsburgh, rangolis are colorful, collaborative, and celebratory, and we invite attendees to come learn about this art form and create their own rangoli designs! In this workshop, we will help attendees create their own small rangoli designs that they can take home with them. *What are CRAFTERNOONS? *'Saturday Crafternoons at Assemble PGH are free weekly drop-in programs for youth ages 5 to 11. Sturdy 33" x 33" solid wood table extends to 63" long. Wooden round legs. Well loved. Tabletop has worn spots. The extension pieces are more worn out than the main table top.Would look like new if sanded.
