Looking for a digital camera

Hello neighbors I have a 13 year old niece who is going on a trip with other Girl Scouts to Panama where they will be learning about conservation efforts and other things. She is interested in taking a small digital camera with her to take some photos. I have a Canon SLR that I could lend her, but it is too big and bulky. Anyone have a digital camera that they are not using anymore? One that takes nice photos, is not too big, and has an easy way to get the photos off of it and into a laptop or other device. With the advances in cell phone photography, I thought that someone may have a camera that no longer gets use since they always have a device to take photos with them. I would consider buying her a new camera, as she is a responsible individual. But a teenager with a camera in a saltwater beach environment just seems like it has a slight possibility of malfunction. If you have a not-too-bulky camera that is simple and takes good photos, and it is sitting around not getting use, and you were thinking of doing something with it, let me know. I do not know if my niece has any specific features in mind other than taking good photos and it being easy to handle. Large cat carrier

We have had a stray cat living in and around our house for about a month. I posted here about the cat before, but I'm including a picture again. If you know this cat, please let me know. We'd like to bring the cat in to get checked out, see if he has a chip, and then potentially adopt him. He is WAY TOO BIG for the cat carrier we already have.
