Share / View as a webpage <https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fcontent.govdelivery.com%2Fa…> [image: City of Pittsburgh] *FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*June 26, 2024 Olga George olga.george(a)pittsburghpa.gov 412-627-0679 Completion Nearing On Penn Circle Two-Way Conversion *East Liberty to See New Traffic Patterns * *Pittsburgh, PA –* The City of Pittsburgh's Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (URA) are excited to announce that the $7.2 million Penn Circle Two-Way Conversion Project is nearing completion. *The two-way conversion of traffic around Penn Circle is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, July 2nd after the a.m. commute. While the roadway will be open to traffic during the conversion, there will be isolated lane restrictions to complete miscellaneous work. * Off-duty police officers will be stationed at the various intersections around Penn Circle to monitor traffic movements during the initial implementation of two-way traffic. Penn Circle consists of four streets (Centre Avenue, Station Street, North Euclid Avenue, and South Euclid Avenue) in the East Liberty neighborhood that functioned for years as a four-lane, one-way ring road. The final phase of the project will convert Station St. and Euclid Ave. from one-way traffic to two-way operations. The project includes upgrades to traffic signals; intersection modifications to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, including protection bike lanes, upgraded curb ramps, street trees, new pavement markings and signage; and other miscellaneous construction. During implementation, the public is asked to please be aware of officers and flaggers, and to adhere to changing traffic patterns for motorists, bicycles, and pedestrians.
