ISO Garden path recommendations/experiences

Hi, I'm currently planting a pollinator garden in my backyard (in Highland Park). As part of the design, I will be installing a permeable walkway that will wander through the garden. I know that there are many options for creating such a walkway: wood chips, gravel, stepping stones, various kinds of edging, etc. I'm just wondering whether anyone on the list has actually constructed any kind of permeable path and would be willing to share ideas, experiences, do's and don'ts, etc.--and, perhaps, even allow me to come and walk on your path. Loud cars and motorized bikes on N. Highland Thursday night

It's 9:53pm and the last hour about 80% of the vehicles have been speeding on N. Highland Ave., much more than the 25mph limit. Mind you, there's a stop sign at N. Highland and Bryant, but they are still managing to speed! There are also numerous dirt bike style motorized 2 wheeled bikes - not motorcycles. These bikes are doing 'wheelies' andrevving up making disturbing noise! It's just the beginning of Pittsburgh nice weather, do I call 911, complain to 311 tomorrow, after the fact? I really think it's going to continue and possibly become worse.Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Sue
