Residents are urged to: - Avoid direct contact with others who do not live with you. - Make a cloth mask part of your costume, but do not substitute a costume mask for a cloth mask. - Bring hand sanitizer to use throughout trick-or-treating and wash your hands before eating any treats. - Follow distancing on sidewalks and when approaching homes. Stay at least 6 feet away from others outside of your household. - Wear reflective clothing and bring flashlights for visibility while trick-or-treating. As with each year, motorists are asked to be especially vigilant on Halloween night, decrease speeds and increase awareness of trick-or-treating children and families. ------------------------------ . about 5G tower receptors in Highland park

Dear neighbors, I walked this morning and Sheridan Avenue is loaded with those new towers. They are all noisy, especially at night when traffic and activities stop.. I am wondering which company placed them :? Verizon ? T Mobile or At&T ? Do you have any clue? I called 311 and placed a complaint for noise and the fact that those huge powerful 5G receptors were placed without consulting the neighborhood. An inspector will come. I invite anybody concerned as well to call 311 The more voices they will hear, the merrier. I am very disappointed by the invasion of those toxic towers in Highland park. What else could we do ?

Hello Highland Park, My name is Sam Bratschie and I reside on N. Saint Clair Street (represent!). I have been tutoring 2 young men in 9th and 10th grade math. The family I tutor for recommended I reach out to the neighborhood to see if anyone needs some extra help with Math or English. I can confidently tutor in English at any grade level and math up to trigonometry. A little background about myself, I am currently a master's student in the field of higher education with a focus on teaching. I hold a grad assistant position for Geneva College and therefore I have clearances to work with children and young adults along with a background check if that is something you would like for your child's safety. The family who I currently tutor for said they would gladly speak on my behalf for the help I have given their boys. I love working with kids and especially love teaching. I currently tutor for 50$ per hour with the family I mentioned, but that cost is negotiable depending on your needs. about 5G transmitter in Highland park

Hello, I would like to know if Verizon is giving me the right information about the 5G installed in our neighborhood ( very loud and toxic) I just called Verizon, *and they said that the neighborhood approved of it, otherwise they will not have installed any 5G. * I replied that I have never heard about any meeting about Verizon 5G transmitter coming to Highland park, nor Pittsburgh . Did I miss something? Were you ever invited to discuss this issue with Verizon in Highland park ? Well I did place a complaint and asked them to fix that loud box at the corner of Jackson and Sheridan avenue. Ideally, I would like to see that gone ! Next I will contact the local rep to see how to prevent 5G from coming into our city, if not too late. The mayor of San Francisco, aware of 5G toxicity, prohibited it in hos city ! Can Pittsburgh do the same?

*Published:* 10.20.2021 *Contact:* Amanda Mueller Deputy Public Information Officer Public Safety 412-510-6314 amanda.mueller(a)pittsburghpa.gov National Prescription Take Back Day is Saturday, October 23, 2021 PITTSBURGH, PA (October 20, 2021) -- Pharmaceutical or prescription drugs can be just as dangerous as unregulated substances, because addiction can oftentimes begin with what’s inside your medicine cabinet. In 2019, nearly 10 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Nearly 5% of children ages 12 to 17 have reported non-medical drug use over the past year, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Together with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Pittsburgh is working towards making the community safer, starting at home. *On Saturday, October 23 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.*, Pittsburgh will participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s 21st Annual Prescription Drug Takeback Day. In April, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police collected 34 boxes with a combined total weight of 672 pounds of prescription medications. Nationally, 420 tons of expired or unused medications were collected at over 5,000 collection sites. “Many people may not realize the proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs can actually save lives,” said Sergeant Rebecca Bassano, Pittsburgh Police Narcotics and Vice. “Dropping off pill bottles at a disposal location can prevent them from getting into the wrong hands.” Expired or unused prescription drugs can be a public safety hazard leading to poisoning, accidental overdoses, or abuse. Proper disposal can also protect the environment. All expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs can be dropped off at the following locations this Saturday: Zone 1: 1501 Brighton Rd, 15212 Zone 2: 2000 Centre Ave, 15219 Zone 3: 830 E Warrington Ave, 15210 Zone 4: 5858 Northumberland St, 15217 Zone 5: 1401 Washington Blvd, 15206 Zone 6: 312 South Main St, 15220 Police Headquarters: 1203 Western Ave, 15233 For those who can’t participate this weekend, permanent drop-off boxes are located at Pittsburgh Police Headquarters and Zone 6.
