*Published:* 10.05.2021 *Contact:* Molly Onufer Communications Director Mayor's Office 412-579-8534 molly.onufer(a)pittsburghpa.gov City Announces Upcoming Neighborhood Electronic and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events PITTSBURGH, PA (October 5, 2021) The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works Environmental Services Division announced today it will host four electronic waste and household hazardous waste neighborhood collection events on Saturdays this fall. Electronic waste and household hazardous waste includes hard to recycle materials like televisions, computers, paints, batteries, light bulbs, chemicals and more <https://pittsburghpa.gov/dpw/ewaste>. The events are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and advance registration is required. Registration for a five minute appointment can be done online by selecting the preferred event at ecsr.net/pittsburgh-recycling or by calling the City’s 311 line. The fall events follow four events that were held over the summer which were scheduled in coordination with City Councilmembers to identify locations for neighborhood events throughout regions of the city. The upcoming events are: - October 16, 2021 in Shadyside at Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 - October 23, 2021 in Arlington at New Academy Charter School, 2500 Jonquil Way, Pittsburgh, PA 15210 - November 6, 2021 in Lawrenceville at Goodwill of Southwestern PA, 160 52nd Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201 - November 20, 2021 in Crafton Heights at Middletown Baptist Church, 2660 Middletown Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15204 Each event can serve up to 240 appointments. Participants are required to drive to the event and must remain in their car for a contactless drop off. Social distancing and face masks are encouraged. Fees apply to most items although the City subsidizes these fees to make them more affordable. Mailbox for sale – correction

Seems my last offer for this mailbox had a legible font. I will try again: Residential mailbox for sale, $12. This brand new, large, durable plastic postal mailbox is designed to be mounted on a post, but I have a similar one that I just set down on an outdoor table after weighing it down by screwing a piece of wood to the underside (which it normally would have underneath if it were mounted on a post, which is why it already has holes for that). I like these mailbox shapes because they hold so much more, and things inside don’t get wet. My old wall-mounted rectangular one was often forced to be left open because newspaper–like flyers and magazines stuck out the top And kept it from closing, so everything would get wet when it rained. This mailbox has gold lettering that says “US Mail”. It has a gold flag to indicate you have outgoing mail. Color is brownish/bronze-ish. It is fully assembled and does not lock. It is approved by the US Postal Service. I bought it but decided I wanted black instead, but could not return it. This is brand new, never used. Highland Park location (near Highland and Stanton). Childcare opening in highland park

I currently have a toddler daycare spot open! (must be over 1 years old) I am open from 7:30 am to 5pm, it is a hands on in home daycare open for 7 years, experience with children from 3 months to 6 years, cpr and first aid training, a degree in early education. I am dedicated to not only taking care of the children but beginning their learning experience with preschool curriculum based on the child/childrens age. I watch the children in the lower level of my house which is remodeled just for the daycare and allows the children to have an at home feeling while focusing alot of my time on art work, crafts, reading, outdoor time, music and exercise. Missing Cat

Our cat, Zooky, wandered off sometime earlier this evening (Saturday, 6/12). She likes to go outside in warm weather to lay in the sun, but she typically does not leave our back deck and yard. The few times she has, she has not come home on her own but has rather been found and returned by kind strangers - so I’m not sure that she actually knows her way home. She is 13 years old, very small (5 or 6 lbs), friendly and affectionate, and not in great health. She has two chronic conditions (kidney and upper respiratory) for which she receives regular treatment. She is not wearing a collar but she is microchipped with our information.
