Recommendation - CCI Sound Home Plan

Spreading the word about a great resource, Conservation Consultants, Inc. (CCI). I’m a new homeowner in Highland Park and a neighbor recommended this fantastic local non-profit that conducts energy assessments on homes and small businesses. My original goal was to have them identify how to address some drafty areas, and I was so surprised at how comprehensive the assessment was. All rooms were professionally measured and all major appliances were assessed…and thank goodness, because they identified a very dangerous clog with my hot water heater that was starting to back carbon monoxide into my home. It was not yet at emergency levels, but it was not picked up during my pre-sale home inspection. They did lead testing, used infrared cameras to check on insulation density and used a blower door test to suck the air out of the home to identify where the drafty areas were. The cost was very reasonable and I have a fantastic report, complete with photos that identified areas to address immediately and what can wait, and projections about how much I could save on my energy bills if I made the improvements. Some I could do myself, such as updating the door sweep and putting some caulk around the entry door. They also have a list of bonded professionals and they are great at helping you to put together an action plan. Wonderful resource for all of us with old homes. All of the contractors are great…Virginia McGrath was mine and she is fantastic…I’ve emailed and called her since my assessment to ask her opinion about a couple of items. Safavieh Wool Rug 3x5

Great quality in really good condition. 3' x5' It was used under a coffee table so never walked on. Very heavy weight rug from smoke free pet free home. Scarlett at PetSearch needs a home, courtesy post please contact PetSearch! 724-228-SEEK is PetSearch number, they can answer questions about Scarlett, I can not, sorry.Scarlett has been with Pet Search for 6 months without any applications... please share to help Scarlett find her forever family! Scarlett was stray picked up by Animal Control in Allegheny County… no one ever came forward to claim ownership of this sweet girl. When she came to Pet Search several weeks ago, she was sweet but horribly thin; good food and lots of love took care of that!Scarlett is great with other dogs, both male and female, as well as with children; however, she has a high prey drive regarding cats, so a cat/free house is a must. She is housebroken, crate trained, and needs a little more work regarding leash manners. Scarlett is a 6 year old terrier mix that so wants a family to love her! It's open!!

The reservoir walk is open! It needs a lot of cleanup and the walk has not been repaved yet, except for a couple of feet out from the railing, but the fence is gone and there are no signs saying to keep off, so that means open to me. Bill Ghrist
