Are you missing your fitness classes? <https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=143008865> We were taking a really wonderful fitness class at Kingsley called "Movement Matters". I contacted the teacher and asked if she would be willing to do something on-line as I am really missing the class. This class is geared toward seniors and it is done sitting in a chair from the convenience of your own home. She said she could offer something on Wednesdays from 1 pm to 1:45 pm for a small fee to be paid through Venmo and conducted on Zoom. You may remember Gia from Kingsley or Club One. Census data is used to decide what money and resources are distributed to neighborhoods, cities and states. The COVID-19 federal stimulus package that was recently passed to provide relief to residents used numbers from the last census to determine how money would be allocated to Pittsburgh. It is critical that every person is counted so that we can get the help the City needs. “While everyone is staying home and staying safe these days to help stop the spread of COVID-19, there is plenty of time for us all to fill out the Census questionnaire. It’s really easy and takes about five minutes to do,” Mayor William Peduto said. “Given the economic hardships we’re facing as a result of the pandemic it is more important than ever that Pittsburgh is fully counted and in turn fully funded, so we can deliver residents the services they need.” Census notifications were sent out to households in early March with instructions for filling out the questionnaire online. Households can request a paper copy or do the questionnaire over the phone by calling 1-844-330-2020 for English. A list of numbers for additional languages is included below. Census Bureau interviewers who go door-to-door will continue this census, but that outreach will be delayed due to COVID-19 concerns.
