Support for a Woman in Recovery

Did you know that 55-99% of women entering recovery suffer from PTSD, specifically related to intimate partner violence? Working closely with these women every day and for the duration of their recovery, I have the privilege to hear their stories, striving to help them move to a place of confidence, stability, and safety. Branding a woman’s body is a way men feel they have control over women in abusive relationships, and something I see often. Currently, I'm working with a woman who’s recently celebrated a major milestone in her recovery; because of this progress and stability, she has been able to find a loving and supportive partner but continues to feel shame for the men’s names she has tattooed on her body. With her children growing, she would like the 5 small names to be covered. Sadly, she’s gotten comments from family calling her “the sign-in book.” With that said, she is unable to afford full cover-up tattoos. We’re currently looking for Pittsburgh area advocates and tattoo artists who would be willing to assist with reduced or free cover-ups. Is this your cat?

Does anybody know this extremely friendly unneutered male orange cat? I was in our backyard with our dog and heard him meowing on the other side of our fence, in the alley called Samantha Way behind our house on Negley. He immediately came up to us and was not afraid of our dog at all. He looks healthy and young, but he seemed hungry so I fed him. He was EXTREMELY hungry! When he was finished he cried at our back door to come in. It broke my heart to leave him outside but our indoor cat would not be pleased to have a feline companion. He is definitely not feral but I don’t know that he’s necessarily somebody’s pet, either. Please let me know if anyone knows him. We are on Negley near Jackson St. Sent from my iPhone

Storm window replacement contractor

Friends, We live in a typical 100 year old house with wooden double-hung interior windows and wooden "pop-out" storm windows and screens that were added some time after the house was built. These wooden storms need to be replaced with something more modern, but I really want want to keep the wooden interior windows intact--many of them have stained glass or diamond shaped lights inside the muntins. I suspect we are looking at big dollars here, but I would appreciate any suggestions you might have for contractors who could handle this kind of work. According to a study published in Scientific Reports: 'The magnitude of health gains of 2 hours per week spent in nature appear to be significant, on a par with the health differences associated between living in a well-off area and a deprived one.
