Loose Chihuahua

We saw a tan Chihuahua (with a collar) running down Sheridan between Jackson and Stanton, and then in the yard at 6046 Jackson. I tried to get the dog to come to me but he ran to the backyard, under a deck and might now be in the alley between Sheridan and Farragut. He's very skittish but doesn't look injured. I'll keep looking for him, but I'm not sure if he is still in this area. June 412-559-8168

Scrap Metal

I left an old grill out for pick up last week and someone came by and took it, I assume for scrap metal. I have 2 stackable washers and dryers that I'd like someone to take. Does anyone know of someone who wants them or of a good resource for scrap metal? Both are old and essentially not optimally functional which is why I am pitching them. Thank you! Diane

Closing the fishing season strong.

Lets Go Fishing Team members. We have had a busy summer, I personally have learned a lot about the opportunity God has given us to reach into the heart of the community. The families are more than happy with the performance of Lets Go Fishing. I pray that we can reach even deeper touching those with disabilities. We need to finish strong and if you have not been able to support the work at Lake Carnegie due to other commitments that is understandable. We have volunteers who have devoted a lot of man hour at the lake taking some time of in August, we could use help on Tuesday with Gwen's girls and Saturday September 7,for the community fishing event. Please do not depend on others to do what is needed. I am asking everyone to re-evaluate your commitment and lets finish the fishing season strong. Elder Spencer Simon, Jr.

My friend Sandra walks dogs at the Pet Adoption League in Yukon, PA. This handsome boy is looking for a great home! Hunter is located at the Pet Adoption League in Yukon, PA, not far from Pittsburgh.(724) 722-3670Here is his story:This is Hunter. He’s a little over a year old and he’s a Hound mix. He came to us as a stray. He is very friendly and still has lots of his puppy energy. He absolutely loves to play and loves romping around. He loves everyone he meets, 2 legs and 4. He’d do great with another active dog friend. He needs a home that’ll help him get rid of some energy and work on some basic training with him. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, but he was never given basic training. He loves to jump all over people. He is very smart and he learns very quickly especially if treats are involved. He’s going to make a wonderful companion for someone and will be someone’s lifelong friend given the chance.

(724) 722-3670Here is her story: This is Kenzie. She’s a 2 year old Boxer/Lab mix. She came to us from animal control where she was pulled from a home after found living in a neglectful situation. She was found last summer tied in a backyard and had herself wrapped around a post to the point where she was strangling herself. She was pretty skinny and had no access to water. Despite where she came from, she has always been in the best spirits. She is so happy to be out of that home and is ready to live it up. She adores every person she meets. She’s all wiggles when someone comes to see her and she’s filled to the brim with personality. She’s got the cutest little head tilt when someone starts talking to her. She’s another dog who was never given basic training early on in her life. She likes to jump when she’s excited. When first coming out of her kennel she has a lot of pent up energy and doesn’t show well. She is very receptive to commands though and will stop when told. She is an active dog who loves to play. She needs a home with someone that’ll help her burn some energy. She wants to bond with someone and once she does that, that’ll be her person. She has been sitting here far too long and she desperately is waiting for that forever home. Meet Kenzie. She’s a beautiful 2 year old Lab/Boxer mix. She came in as an unclaimed stray. She didn’t have a very good life prior to being with us. She was left chained outside and was very skinny. She had herself wrapped around a fence and was choking herself. A good samaraton got her untangled and turned her in. She is an absolute sweetheart and just loves being around people. She loves to play and would do best in an active home. She gets along with other dogs that are able to keep up with her. She will make a wonderful companion for someone. If interested, stop on out to see her!” | | |
