I have attached a couple of pictures to show what they look like. Price: *$50 each if purchasing 1-8 coins. Description: The Peace Dollar was minted to commemorate the signing of the peace treaty between the United States and Germany at the end of World War I. Interestingly, this coin was created without a new Congressional Act. It followed the provisions of the Pittman Act that authorized the reissue of the Morgan Silver Dollar in 1921. Design The medalist Anthony De Francisci designed the Peace dollar using his wife Teresa as a model for the personified head of Liberty. Above her head appears the word "LIBERTY" and beneath sits the date of issue. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears around her neck separated between the words "WE" and "TRUST". The reverse features a perched eagle on a mountain crag looking off into rays of sunlight. Across the eagle is the denomination. The Mint Mark appears underneath the word "ONE". At the top of the coin along the rim lie the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" above the Latin phrase "E • PLURIBUS • UNUM". All Peace Silver Dollars were struck in high relief in 1921, their first year of production. The design was slightly modified in 1922 and normal relief coins were struck later that year. Peace Dollars were struck continuously until effects of the Great Depression hit in 1929. The U.S. Mint began producing them again in 1934, but coins dated 1935 would be the last to see circulation. Soon after America became fully involved in World War II. Peace Dollars were actually struck in Denver again in 1965, but all were destroyed and none ever reached circulation. Hi neighbors, Just a quick reminder that we will be driving the neighborhood picking up for the monthly FOCUS Collection this coming Wednesday, 20 JUN 18. We will be around the neighborhood at 9:00 AM Wednesday morning, so if you have non-perishable food items, or items listed below to donate, as We are running our monthly pick-up from the neighborhood for Supplies for FOCUS !!! We have attached a letter in regards to what they need, but most importantly it is FOOD at this time. Last month we took our Van Loaded, and it was so needed and so much appreciated. Mike and Brigette Nadler, are coordinating the Highland Park pick up. If you are inclined to help, leave the supplies on your front porch and we will pick up and get your donations to FOCUS. So we are doing this again this Wednesday, 20 JUN 18. We will be around starting at 9:00 AM, and need to get the donations there by noon. Please DO NOT drop off here, as we do not have a way of storing donations. MAKE SURE that there is a Phone Number so that they can reach you during collection times, should there be any questions. FOCUS Pittsburgh, located in the Hill District, is part of a national movement through the Orthodox Church, that helps to fight poverty in communities across America. One of their areas in need is keeping their food pantry stocked with food and supplies. Currently, their shelves are empty and they need help. The above attachment highlights what they need. It could change on a monthly basis, at which point that need will be communicated. FOCUS Pittsburgh has been in the Hill since 2011. Each week, hundreds of backpacks are distributed to children in the Hill and Southside Public Schools. They offer an 8-week professional development class that teaches non-technical job skills to promote employment and success in the workplace. Bag lunches are distributed every Saturday through the Churches....140 lunches to be exact. In 2014, they opened a free medical and behavioral health clinic for people who are uninsured or who don't qualify for medical assistance. Most recently, they have purchased an RV, trained dozen of volunteers, and have formed a trauma response team -- responding to homicides in Allegheny County by providing on-site psychological and mental health care to residents affected by violence. The Highland Park Community Council Kids' Committee is hosting its annual 4th of July Parade. Kids of all ages are invited to decorate their bicycle or wheeled vehicle of choice and then show off their handy work with a parade around the fountain. When: Wednesday, July 4 at 10:30 a.m.Where: Highland Park -- meet near the fountain Supplies to decorate bikes, tricycles, wagons and anything else on wheels will be provided, as well as snacks.
