Love to you on this new day. At times of great challenge the mind tends to bounce from here to there attempting to make sense of things, emotions rise and fall in waves, and the spirit seems to falter unlike any other time and yet eventually soars to greater heights as we find balance, the balance that only love can restore. It is at these times when we remember that joining together in Oneness, whether it be with community, family, or within ourselves - body, mind, and spirit - that we realize that there is a greater whole that awaits us. The sense of wholeness reminds us that there is a plan built within the fabric of our beingness, a plan to unite us in love, not only the love of those we know, the love that is inherent to all those who seem to be separate from us, unknown to us, but a love and oneness with all life force that surrounds us, restoring us to the sense of belonging to one another, to the planet, to life itself. Please join together this Tuesday for an 8 a.m. yoga class (all levels) at the First United Methodist Church in Shadyside, 5401 Centre Ave. The class is open to all, and the cost is $10. Hi!! We will be serving Venezuelan Arepas this Sunday, November 18 between 10 am and 2:00 pm (or until supplies last). If you haven’t ever eaten an arepa, let us explain: Arepas are made of white corn meal; grilled and then filled with savory fillings (think cheese, ham, eggs, chicken, sautéed mushrooms). If you need a visual, you can say it’s like a hot pocket (just 1000 times better). The arepas will be freshly made at Bryant Street Market and we will have the following fillings: ⁃Reina Pepiada - chicken, avocado and mayo. ⁃Peluda - filled with flavorful shredded beef. ⁃Pata-Pata (vegan) - black beans and avocado. rehoming 3 year old Bluehealer mix

While this breaks my heart, my husband and I are trying to rehome our 3 year old, 45 pound, Blue Heeler mix, MJ. MJ is the most emotionally in tune dog I've ever seen and is extra loving when you're feeling down in the dumps. She is trained well with come, sit, and stay. She is exceptionally good with puppies. She is better than the top of the line vacuum cleaner, and will clean up any crumbs in 3/10th of a second. She is great with fetching, loves water, and can hang with the best of them on long hikes. She is a perfect guard dog and incredibly loyal. I feel obligated to list MJs faults because, while she is great in so many ways, she's not perfect (but who is?) and I want her next home to be her forever home. MJ is an anxious dog with a good amount of energy. She attaches strongly to one human but can be timid around others. She is hit or miss with other dogs and can be somewhat reactive. It was slow going with our first dog but now they are best friends. She needs a fair amount of attention and lots of exercise. With all that being said, she many more has more good qualities than bad. MJ would be best with a family with older children and no other dogs. We recently had a baby and MJ is skittish around the baby and a bit timid. Someone who can give MJ lots of exercise would make her a happy dog. The ideal family would be able to make MJ a priority in their life and give her the attention that we regrettably can't. We want to make sure that the next family she goes to is 100% the right fit.
