The Entrance Garden's beautiful tulips and daffodils were a great way to greet Spring. The fountain is flowing and adding to our enjoyment of this wonderful space. Now is the time to begin to lend our helping hands to Angela with the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy to prepare for the summer season and keep the flowers blooming. Weeding Wednesdays are scheduled from 5-7:00 PM every other Wednesday throughout the summer. May's dates are: May 3rd May 17th May 31st. Art Opening

The next show at Gallery on 43rd Street in Lawrenceville is Pinched Clay Pots, a tribute to Marlene Boyle who passed away in 2013. She was known for her sawdust pit fired pots and wood fired. The opening is on Sunday, May 7, 2:00 to 5:00. The show continues through June 17, 2017. Gallery hours are 11:00 to 6:00, Thursday-Saturday.

HP Garden Club plants for sale!

Hello everyone! On top of all my regular plant-growing, I am also the horticulturist for the Highland Park Garden Club. A few members are thinning our perennials, and decided to sell them and donate the money to the HPGC. The club is a non-profit and our mission includes beautifying the neighborhood and providing educational programming, both of which cost money. Available right now we have: Just-dug daffodil bulbs (yes, you can plant them now, but leave the greens on them!) for $3/dozen-- only 25¢ per bulb! Solid green hostas for $4/pot. Each pot includes 2 plants. There's not a huge supply, so get to me quickly. If we're already out, I'll put you on a waiting list and offer you first dibs when the next member divides plants!
