Last year over 68 runners laced up their shoes to run as part of the Pittsburgh Marathon to support the work of Open Hand Ministries. 50 members of 10 relay teams, 15 half marathoners, and 3 full marathoners joined forces with supporters to raise a total of $8,671. Those funds were translated into a beautiful home for our twelfth first-time homeowner and programming for the 28 children we serve through OHM-Circles. We are excited about what we accomplished and grateful for your investment. We are turning our attention to this year and are enthusiastic about what we can achieve together. car broken into

Last night, Thursday, my car (parked at the corner of Sheridan and Hampton) was broken into for the 4th time in three months. The doors were locked but I failed to activate the alarm. Although I take responsibility for what was stolen (and it was a lot), I am concerned that the vandals will also be checking doors and windows of home-if not now, as they get more bold.

Dear neighbors, We like to invite you to our* Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Celebration on next Monday, January 16 from 2:00 to 7:00pm at Union Project. *This is a free flowing event, you can come and leave whenever you like. The evening will be filled with a host of free family friendly activities, including: - Designing Community T-shirts with Michelle King and local artist Abbie Adams - Writing poetry with spoken word artist Emiola Jay Oriola - Finding new perspectives through artwork with Jonathan Reyes and Autumn Chilcote - Sing along with Pittsburgh vocalist Anqwenique Wingfield. At 5:30pm we will break bread together with Haudenosaunsee Confederacy cuisine prepared by Conflict Kitchen.
