HPCC June Monthly Meeting Reminder - June 16th at St. Andrew's at 7PM - PLEASE READ

Please join us for the HPCC June Monthly Meeting tonight - Thursday, June 16th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Church. All Highland Parkers are encouraged to attend. As many of you are already aware, there is a suboxone medical clinic operating in the pharmacy's building at Stanton & Negley. Suboxone is used to treat narcotic (opiate) addiction. The zoning committee recently met with the owner of the property, Stanton-Nelgley Drug Co., Jeffery Dorsey from Union Project and Deb Gross to discuss how this medical clinic came to be in this location in a Residential Zone, its impact on the neighborhood so far and our overall concerns. I have also received a number of calls and emails on the subject so I have asked Brent from Deb Gross' office to be on hand tonight to hear the neighborhood's thoughts and experiences first hand and invited Erik Harless from Permits, Licenses and Inspections (PLI) to attend to help answer any questions about PLI's process and what's next for the neighborhood. In honor of the opening of our new off-leash exercise area, our guest speaker will be Mary Kennedy Withrow, Shelter Director & Director of Government and Community Relations for the Western PA Humane Society. Ms. Withrow will share information on recent PA pet legislation and what you can do when you see an animal in trouble. She will also discuss how we can make the Highland Park off-leash exercise area the best one in the city! I hope to see you there!
