A service of Choral Evensong will be offered by the Schola Cantorum of St. Andrew's Church, under the direction of Peter Luley, on Sunday afternoon, March 16, at 4:30 p.m. Propers of the service observe Patrick of Ireland, whose day is March 17, and the preacher at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Philip Wainwright, Priest Associate of St. Andrew's Church and Campus Minister of the Episcopal Ministry at the University of Pittsburgh. The Choral Introit will be Richard Farrant, _Call to Remembrance_, and the anthem will be Gregorio Allegri, _Miserere_. Our regularly scheduled "First Thursday of the Month" 8 p.m. service of Choral Evensong at St. Andrew's will this month observe Candlemas, the Feast of the Presentation of our Lord in the Temple and of the Purification of St. Mary the Virgin, "translated" from Monday, February 2 (which was the 40th Day of Christmastide!). In the service the Choir will be singing the Ave Maria of Tomas Luis de Victoria, the Johannes Eccard anthem, When to the Temple Mary went, and canticles from the service in B Minor by T. Tertius Noble. The service is followed by a musical recital. Sung-Im Kim, piano, and Christopher Scherer, violin, will play the W.A. Mozart Sonata for Piano and Violin KV 481.
