I have a lot of containers of shampoos, conditioners, etc., that I had wanted to donate to the Women's Shelter--as I had done in the past. However, I was just informed that they are no longer able to accept any products that have already been opened. Any suggestions where I can donate these now? Thank you, Susan

All Saints at St. Andrew's

An exceptional All Saints Sunday of Music at St. Andrew's, Highland Park-- On All Saints Sunday, November 1st, our services at St. Andrew's will be the Holy Communion at 9 a.m. in the Chapel and then a choral and orchestral service of the Holy Communion at 11 a.m. in the Church. It is our custom to offer special prayers of remembrance for departed loved ones on this day. The Rector will preside and preach at both services. Most notably, at the 11 a.m. service the Parish Choir and the Pittsburgh Festival Orchestra, under the direction of Associate Organist Ethan LaPlaca, will offer the Franz Schubert Missa Brevis in G Major. A lovely preview recording of the Kyrie from the Schubert Mass, with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and soprano the always-dazzling Dawn Upshaw, may be heard here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5eG0nbIako Our "Coffee and Conversation" Adult Program, at 10 a.m., in the hour between the services, in Barley Hall (downstairs in the Parish House), will be led by Randi Sider-Rose, who will lead a presentation and discussion about "Icons and Prayer." Our former au pair, Ana is living in Highland Park for the next several months. She is a native of Venezuela and is trying to make a better life for herself. Ana is fluent in Spanish (obviously) and English. She has a background in early childhood education. in 2011, she provided wonderful child care for our two kids as a live-in au pair. She was a delightful companion and caregiver for our kids. As working parents with two children under 9, Ana’s presence was indispensable. She performed her duties with zeal and was treasured by our whole family. She is eager to help out local families with babysitting, tutoring or even as a temporary nanny.
