Is your 10-16yo anxious or stressed? Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are recruiting anxious youth ages 10-16 to participate in a research study about understanding sleep and emotion. (www.RemedyResearchGroup.com<http://www.RemedyResearchGroup.com>) Research Study Purpose: This Research Study will help us to learn about the role of sleep in processing and storing emotional experiences/memories. We are also interested in how these things may occur differently in youth with and without anxiety. We hope that understanding these characteristics may help in developing future treatments for anxiety. Research Study Participants: Youth ages 10-16 years old, who have frequent anxiety, worries and fears. Common Exclusion Criteria: Common exclusion criteria include, but are not limited to: * Children with history of mania, or bipolar disorders * Children with history of psychosis * Children who are taking psychiatric medications daily Participation: * Parents and children will complete an interview/evaluation and questionnaires * Children will spend either one "full day" (coming in the morning and then returning in the evening on one day), or one overnight stay at a Sleep Lab at the University of Pittsburgh * During their time at the lab, they will be asked to complete some questionnaires and computer tasks * Other Details: * Children receive compensation for involvement. [PennDOT left-cmyk] Traffic Advisory Sept. 25, 2014 Route 8 Butler Street Lane Restriction Friday Night in Pittsburgh Pittsburgh, PA - PennDOT District 11 is announcing an eastbound lane closure on Butler Street (Route 8) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Friday night, Sept. 26, weather permitting. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday night, the eastbound (outbound) lane on Butler Street will be closed until 6 a.m. Saturday between One Wild Place and the Highland Park Bridge as crews conduct water line work. Single lane traffic in each direction will occur. Traffic will not be stopped. The work is part of the Route 8 Heths Run Bridge replacement project. The existing bridge built in 1913-14 will be replaced with a new structure. A temporary roadway through the Pittsburgh Zoo parking lot will be implemented for cars and light trucks. Additionally, the project includes reconstruction of 870 feet of Butler Street, improvements on One Wild Place, drainage, and sidewalk and signal upgrades. To help keep motorists informed as work on the Heths Run Bridge continues PennDOT is creating an email distribution list for Route 8 traffic advisories and construction updates. Enroll by sending email addresses to stcowan(a)pa.gov<mailto:stcowan@pa.gov> and writing "Subscribe - Route 8" in the subject line. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect possible delays. # # #
