Hi Neighbors, We are preparing our house for sale and aren't quite ready to list it yet, but we wanted to give the awesome HP connections machine a chance to work. We live in Mellon's Orchard neighborhood between East Liberty and Highland park. Our home is new construction, custom built in 2005. It has 5(could be 6) roomy bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a full height Superior walled (insulated) basement. We have 1 space of off street parking, generously sized fully fenced backyard (great for dogs or kids), landscaped front yard with privacy, big deck and brick patio. The home has many large windows with tons of natural light. The first floor has an open floor plan with a first floor laundry and laundry chute, big kitchen with island, built in bookcases and window seat in living room. We installed a high efficiency wood burning stove last winter and our heating bills were greatly reduced. The third floor has cathedral ceilings, full bath and lots of storage and three skylights. This house is on a FANTASTIC block with great long term neighbors and is a great house for families. we are a block away from the Farmer's Market, the buslines, and all that's hopping in East Liberty. Wallpaper steamer

I have asked this before, but suspect its worth a second try. I am wanting to build a wood steamer, and the sites I am looking at online recommend using a wallpaper steamer. I am hoping that one of our good neighbours might have such a device laying around gathering dust, that they might be willing to part with? Pittsburgh Blues Festival

This weekend, the Pittsburgh Blues Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary with another great 3-day weekend of fabulous music and fun, all to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. If you are looking for something to do on what is promising to be a gorgeous weekend, this is a terrific option. It all takes place at Hartwood Acres and if you don't feel like driving, you can get a shuttle right from Bakery Square. There is a great slate of national and local bands and the headliner is Dr. John, on Saturday. If you're not a blues fan, no problem - you probably will be after going to this festival, or, you can enjoy the other performers like Norm Nardini and Highland Park's Olga Watkins. The festival is family friendly, with a kids tent, and there are lots of great food, craft beers and merchandise vendors. Tethered hot air balloon rides are available. If you want to get in for free, go on Friday and take a bag of non-perishable food for donation - that bag will be your ticket! There is a tent for dogs to get water and treats if you must bring your dog, although some dogs might find the music a bit too loud and would prefer the cool and comfort of home. This is a mellow music festival for all ages. Pack up your lawn chair or a blanket, sit under the stars and trees and enjoy the music, while knowing that you are part of a great Pittsburgh tradition that has raised $2 million to help feed our neighbors who are struggling to put food on the table. Anyone could need the help of a food pantry at some point, and we are so fortunate in this region to have an exemplary food bank!
