I am planning on ordering a futon online and all the companies' "free shipping" is only to the curb. We have to even take it off the truck ourselves. If we want to have them bring it to the first dry place like the porch, they will charge $95, and it only gets worse the further into the house they bring it. It will be shipped in 2 boxes (total weight is supposed to be 103 pounds plus packing materials.) I am incapable of lifting anything like that. I would like to pay a small sum (like $20ish) for someone to meet the truck with me and bring the packages into the house... perhaps even carry them upstairs, although once it is in the house, I suppose we could unpack it downstairs and carry all the pieces upstairs separately ourselves. They supposedly will arrange a delivery time that is convenient to me once the order is processed. I don't believe they will deliver Saturday or evenings, so I will have to work around my work schedule, which is flexible. I don't want to submit the order unless I am sure we will have help to carry the package. Can anyone help? I would be very appreciative. I prefer a phone call to email. How to Divide Perennials

Hello, HPers! Dividing Perennials Program This Saturday! Spring is upon us, and one of the great things you can do for yourself, your plants (and your friends if you'll share!) is to divide a bunch of your perennials. Worried about how to do that? Which perennials you should divide now? Whether they're ready? Well, come on down to the Union Project this Saturday (May 17th) at 10:00 am. The monthly meeting of the Highland Park Garden Club will feature a short presentation on organic lawn care, and then the main topic "Irises, Hostas and Day Lilies, Oh My!" Feel free to bring your questions about specific plants. If I don't know the answer, I'll do my best to find it for you! We will also be providing some 1-gallon containers for you to put your "extra" divisions into when you're ready to share! The meeting & presentation are FREE, and if you enjoy it, you are welcome to join the HPGC for a mere $15 annual dues! Hope to see you all there!
