I’m happy to tell you our newly cleaned site has been chosen for the City of Pittsburgh Love Your Block Grant Program, so our next step is to plant it with flowers. This is one of two (2) upcoming volunteer opportunities in Larimer, on Saturdays June 14 and June 21, 2014, described below. Please share this with anyone you think would be interested. re: plum trees in distress

Hi, anyone a tree person know if there is a blight affecting plum trees? Several of my clients lovely purple plum trees, that looked great last year, seem to be dying. The leaves are a mixed green and purple ( not the shiny, rich purple they usually are) most branches are bare, the trunks bark has split and there is fungus growing on some branches and no real blossoms. Can anything be done to save these trees? Thanks Nicole

Hi Neighbors: Two Corn Snakes are in need of a new home (from relative) - One Male, One Female - Separate Habitats Each (with lights) - About 3 years old - Each has a hider and water bowl - Comes with Food (frozen fuzzy mice) - Pick up in Highland Park (I am in possession of them now) - Pics are available upon request $30 for One with all supplies (it comes with) or both (with all supplies) for $50 (Fee is only to assure they are going to a good place) If you cannot give them a new home, any information on someone/someplace is GREATLY appreciated. No authorized fundraisers

Hello, good people. I received many messages about the woman soliciting money for Carnegie Library bags and flowering plants. Thanks to all of you, and special appreciation to David Atkinson who spoke with the library and Fulton school administrators and learned these sales are NOT sponsored or approved by either organization. More than one response I received noted with compassion that this may be a family in financial distress. At least one respondent had a similar experience, and described this woman and her children ringing her doorbell at 8:45 pm on a school night. So based on all the presently available information, this appears to be a scam. Yes, this family is likely in distress. What I find most troubling is that the parent is clearly exposing her children to a path to potentially criminal behavior. If you know this family, I hope you will encourage the mother to seek assistance from legitimate sources. Very sad situation. Thanks again. Maureen
