[Highland Park] mildew on peonies etc - easy to prevent

Hi - I got advice from the Audubon Society on preventing mildew on peonies/other flowers. Before the mildew sets in, mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 gallon of water, and spray thoroughly on the plant. It slightly changes the pH on the plant's surface, and mildew can't take hold. Once mildew sets in there's nothing to help it. It's unsightly but doesn't kill the plant.
