[Highland Park] Odd occurrence

At about 11:20 this morning, two attractive and well-dressed young women rang my doorbell. When I answered, one of them said they were in the area looking for Russian-speaking people. I said I didn't know of any. They thanked me politely, went across the street and got into a minivan in which several other people were sitting. After a few minutes they drove away. I have no idea whether they rang any other doorbells on my block. This definitely strikes me as odd. Does anyone know anything about this? There have to be more efficient ways of finding Russian speakers than ringing random doorbells. But frankly I doubt that's what they were looking for. Janna Eversmeyer North Euclid Avenue

Nuin Center is Sold

Dear Neighbors, It is official! The Nuin Center has a new owner! Starting in January the new owner will officially take the keys and management of this wonderful holistic wellness and conference center onto its second chapter. This has been an important business to anchor the development of Highland Park's main street. Our founder and previous owner, Cathy Raphael, has been so appreciative of the years she spent creating the Nuin Center and being a part of this community. We are pleased that the Nuin presence will continue! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. The new owner will be in touch to introduce himself at his earliest convenience. Meanwhile, please continue to enjoy the services we have to offer -- yoga classes, psychotherapy, body work, complementary medicine. Need some help

One of my large concrete sidewalk stones on my landing got accidentally tilted by our car. We need some help pushing it back into place so no one trips over it.
