As the Great 50 Days of Eastertide come to a triumphant end-- Choral Evensong for the Day of Pentecost: Whitsunday, will be sung this Sunday afternoon, May 19, at 4:30 p.m., at St. Andrew's Church, Highland Park. Please join us for this last "Third Sunday of the Month" Evensong before the summer hiatus. Our Guest Preacher for the service will be the Rev. William L. Geiger, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Indiana, Pennsylvania. The Schola Cantorum, under the direction of Peter Luley, wlll sing an Introit by Thomas Attwood, "Come Holy Ghost," and an anthem by J.S. Bach, "Der Geist hilft." The Service will be Wood, in E-flat. Neighbors, PULSE is on the lookout for a 4BR house, as our program is growing. At PULSE, we cultivate a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. This coming year, we'll be adding 4 more participants to our AmeriCorps-type program. What we need: a four bedroom house in Pittsburgh's east end to rent. We are a non-profit, so nothing too expensive - glamor is not necessary. We can provide rent starting June, but no later than August 1st. The young adults who will be living there are mature, responsible individuals who are choosing a year of service and community. On June 1st Highland Park Tennis Club will sponsor a mixed doubles event for Cribs for Kids: cribsforkids.org. The event starts at 12:00pm, it is double elimination mixed doubles, 8 game pro set. Entry/Donation is $10.00 per HPTC member and $15.00 per for non-members. Our web site has complete information and a online sign up form. Also, this event has categories of A & B players. No Partner, No Problem, we have players looking for partners. You do not have to be a great player to participate or donate. Hello, Sorry for the umpteenth message on this topic - seems like everyone needs a good electrician in Highland Park every now and then! I have several odd jobs in the 83-year old house we recently moved into. Not a major renovation - just some things don't turn on like they are supposed to. And some don't turn off... [Highland Park] Polling place lookup

Hi neighbors, With the upcoming primaries next week, I am once again disappointed that the Allegheny County polling place lookup ( http://apps.county.allegheny.pa.us/VoteDistricts/Lookup.aspx) continues to provide incorrect information for some of the streets in our neighborhood -- at least, I live on N Negley, and even entering ward 11 in the lookup tool returns the polling place for S Negley addresses. I alerted the county to this problem last fall, but obviously they have not bothered to fix it. However, I just found the State's lookup tool, which does handle North/South streets correctly: https://www.pavoterservices.state.pa.us/Pages/PollingPlaceInfo.aspx So if you are unsure of your polling place, please use the PA tool, NOT the Allegheny County one!
