Does anyone run with or know of a running group that is training for the marathon? My sister is visiting from out of town this weekend and would like to join a group for an 18 mile training run. I would appreciate any information. Thanks, Brian

Greetings, neighbors. We are moving and have some items of furniture that are not coming with us. This Sunday (yes, Easter), we will be getting rid of the furniture listed below. If you'd like to claim it, you may. Otherwise it will go out on the curb. 1. King size mattress and boxspring. It's probably 13 or 14 years old. There isn't a ton of fluff left to the mattress, but it's still fine. 2. Couch - it's a long reddish couch. I have an ivory/beige cover on it now, which comes with it. 3. Small-ish octagonal table - veneer, I think (came with the house that we are now leaving). In OK shape, although a couple little bumps in the veneer, nothing terribly obvious. Again, it's all free. If there's someone in the area setting up house, this might be the perfect stuff for now. Let me know if you are interested. By 3 p.m. Sunday it will be out on the curb on Cordova Rd., if it's not claimed before then. Amy

[Highland Park] HPCC Safety Update - Theft from Auto on the Rise

As you can tell from the ListServ postings, Theft from Auto is on the rise. This recent outbreak is not unique to Highland Park. The police believe the same person has been breaking into cars in Morningside as well. I can assure you that the Zone 5 police are aware of the problem and that the night shift officers are on alert. True to his character, Commander O'Connor has even been out on a night shift hoping to catch the culprit. I will share details with the group as soon as I receive them. In the meantime, do not keep anything in your car at night. Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has any of the following they would be willing to sell at a reasonable price: 1) 2' high, 1/4" mesh hardware cloth/chicken wire (metal): Any length 2) 3' high, 1/4" mesh hardware cloth/chicken wire (metal): Any length 3) Corrugated steel roofing material: The "long way" (the way the ridges run): a) One 6' (or slightly larger) section b) Two 2.5' (or slightly larger) sections Ultimately we need these lengths of sections to be 3' wide, but we cold overlap sections to achieve this. Also, if you know a place to buy corrugated steel roofing, we'd like to hear about that as well (seems Home Depot has a limited, if any, supply). Thank you! Megan
