Handcrafted yarn-dyed wool, this rug is very thick and quite heavy, could use a good carpet cleaning I'm just looking for a different style. A couple pictures are attached below. [Highland Park] Vintage Huffy Bike for Sale

I'm selling a mid 1970s Huffy "Independence" bike for $40, OBO. It has all original fixings, but is rusty in a few places and needs some touch-ups, like a new chain (the current chain works but is very rusty). The seat is quite awesome, and it has new tires. Although it says 10-speed, it really only has 1-speed, although I used it to get around for awhile and it works fine. I'll throw in a bike lock for free. [Highland Park] Shop vac

We are trying to clean our basement floor of the white plaster-type stuff that is flaking off the walls lo these many years. I rented a shop vac from Home Depot (only $5/day) and although it was clean inside and they showed me the filter which looked clean (which someone had warned me about), it does not have very much suction at all. I may take it back and see if I am doing something wrong. I thought I'd see if anyone in the neighborhood has a shop vac (dry use) that I could borrow or rent. I know it is a lot to ask but I thought I'd try. I would need it for 1/2 a day probably. Or if you have any tips for improving the suction, I would appreciate it. Many thanks, Susan --

[Highland Park] Informal hearing assessment

I had my informal county assessment appeal on Monday. All it was is they wanted the info I accumulated for my case. They made copies. They couldn't take all my info because it was too many sheets for them to scan. They didn't want any comments or input beyond that. No discussion on my info or anything. I could have mailed it in for it did no practical good to physically go there. In other words I have no chance to voice my input to the informal appeal. They said the Board would review and get back to me in about a month.

[Highland Park] powerwash and staining help

Hi Neighbors. We have a deck 15x15 and a small 3x6 porch off of our back door with about 5 steps down to the patio. 2 years ago we power washed and used Thompsons Waterseal but it needs it again. [Highland Park] Dentist request

I'm sure many of you share my sadness at Dr. Malvin's retirement last year. We gave his replacement a good try, but we are definitely not a good fit. I've been scolded, spoken down to and outright offended by the new staff on various occasions. Have any of his former patients found a comparable fit? Or, does anyone else out there absolutely love your dentist? We are looking for a place that cares about its patients and really makes you feel at home, much like Dr. Malvin's office did for us. If you could take a minute to recommend (or not recommend) a place and give me a general idea of what they're like, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance! Rachel
