Hello neighbors, I have posted requesting old jeans to up cycle to create new items, and thank you to everyone that gave me there old, used, unwanted clothes, they are all going to good use! I have recently entered a sewing contest on instructables.com where I have upcycled a comforter into a warm house coat. [Highland Park] Handyman/General Contractor Recommendation

Has anyone had a good experience with a handyman or general contractor whom they would recommend? We've had a leak show up in our house that might come from the radiator plumbing, or might come from the outside. We've had one HVAC/plumbing guy come by, and he doesn't think it is the former, so we want to investigate the latter. (We've used Chris Jackson Contracting in the past, and have been quite happy with him/them, but the voicemail says that he will be away for a week, and we probably need to address this before then.) Howdy Folks, Just a few things to jostle your brain...... Now we know EVERYONE on the list serve cleans up after their dogs, here's one for you......We have the people that clean up after their dogs and either throw the bag on the side of my store OR leave the bag right in front....How's that for hi jinks........ Soon we will be switching credit card processors to try to save money. Currently our friends at PNC are charging me roughly 700.00 a month to take credit cards, that's going to change. Now we know cards are just part of the way the world does business. Having said that, here is a general rule I go by. When I go to Target, Sam's Club or Giant Eagle it doesn't bother me to use a card. They get the best rates, so it's no big deal. If I go to Food Glorious Food, Taza D'oro, or E2, I always pay cash. I am also seeing more and more "rewards type" cards, merchants have to pay a higher percentage on those, than they do a debit card. Hitting me with a rewards card for a 5.00 purchase kills our bottom line, I mean how much does that really get you? I understand sometimes that may be all you have. I just want everyone to know how much these banks and processors are killing us. We are working on lowering our costs, and we might have to start a 5.00 minimum purchase, but we'll see. Did anyone notice the CASH ONLY brunch at E2?.....Guess why.....Yep....The banks......All right, enough of that.......On to something lighter............ The house is located in Highland Park - a beautiful and quiet residential neighborhood with plentiful on-street parking. We are located about 10 minutes walk to the 71B to Oakland / Downtown. (Riding time to Oakland is about 25 minutes). We are very close to Highland Park (perfect for summer walking / running / swimming / bike riding) and is within walking distance of a number of local conveniences at Highland Avenue and Bryant Street including Tazza D'Oro coffeeshop (open late, best coffee in Pittsburgh!), a local bakery, a grocery store, E^2, Smiling Banana Leaf and more. We are also within easy reach of the Trader Joes/Bakery Square/Whole Foods/ Market District/UPMC Hospitals etc. in East Liberty and Shadyside. The house is fully furnished, modern, and comfortable. On the first floor it has a fully equipped kitchen with access to patio area and separate back yard, a dining room, a living room, and an entry sunroom. On the second floor it has three furnished bedrooms (one double with queen bed, two singles with twin beds and desks) and a bathroom with bathtub and overhead shower. Each of the bedrooms has ample storage for clothes and other personal belongings. The available bedroom is the front, master bedroom furnished with queen bed, bureau with built-in desk, 6-drawer dresser, and built-in closet. The bedroom has two triple-paned windows (no sound) overlooking the street below. There is also a finished attic, currently used as a bedroom, as well as a basement with full laundry facilities. Rent is $550 per month, with one-and-half months' rent as security deposit. The cost of all utilities is split between all three tenants, including the high-speed FIOS internet.
