Hi all, I have a heavy glass 3-in-1 cake stand that just doesn't work in my kitchen/life. The stand flips over to be a veggie and dip tray and the dome lid turned upside-down makes a punch bowl. Used a few times, mostly just collecting dust. $20 obo

Dear Neighbors with Adult Children: It was supposed to get easier when our kids graduated from high school, but it just got more complicated. We may be paying our children's bills, wondering how or when our kids will become financially independent. We may be single mothers or fathers, recently or long-divorced, or happily coupled yet strained by our worry about our kids, who don't seem to be growing up as quickly as we did. Or maybe we're held back from intimacy with a new partner because the challenges our young adult children bring us take up most of our time. The recession, drugs and alcohol, psychological difficulties, or video games may have taken a toll on our precious ones. We may be lucky--our kids are doing great--and yet we find it difficult to talk to them, to connect, and want to have better relationships with them. I'm willing to bet that I'm not the only person out there who needs and wants to talk about these issues with like-minded people who understand and share my concerns about the adult children in my life. Let's pick a local venue where we can vent, qvetch, and yet do more--seek to find a way to understand our adult children's needs so that we can support them, and ourselves, with compassion, grace, and reason. Hello Highland Park, I am a recent transplant from San Francisco where I was a restaurant chef/manager and a professional ornamental gardener. Currently I am seeking income sources locally while I find a vehicle and a full time job. I am traveling for family over the Christmas Holiday which keeps me from jumping right into a full time position easily. I am a 35 year old woman with 15 years of experience in professional high-end restaurants cooking and managing. Are you planning a holiday party? May I be of assistance?
