Hi Neighbors, I have several pet items that I'm giving away for free (photos attached). I'm moving in a month and don't need these items anymore. They are as follows: - Doggie Steps - collapsible steps to help your infirm/elderly dog (or cat) climb up onto the bed or the sofa (for pets 30 lbs or smaller) - Kitty Scratcher - carpeted cylindrical scratching post/kitty "condo" - Food Bin - great little bin with tight-fitting lid for storing pet food (comes with free cat food!) - Litter Box - enclosed with lid that snaps on and swinging front door (practically new - purchased just a few month before my cat took ill and died) If you would like any of these items then please let me know. [Highland Park] translucent plastic packaging wanted this week

Hi, I am seeking translucent/clear plastic packaging (the kind of lightweight molded plastic you'd find lightbulbs, batteries, electronics etc. packaged in) for use in an activity at the Three Rivers Arts Festival this week. This is the kind of thing people usually throw away/recycle. If you have any I could swing by and pick it up this Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening. No food containers, please, unless they are very clean (the clear plastic containers eggs sometimes come in are good...!) And we can only use translucent plastic. [Highland Park] new home needed for two sweet cats

Our two cats, Ché and Wendell, need to be in a place where they can go outside. We live on a busy area of Negley and it's just too risky to let them out. They're very sweet cats, but Ché has developed a tendency to urinate where she oughtn't and this is a problem for us, needless to say. She is nearly 8 and Wendell is 3. They are spayed and neutered, have sweet temperaments (though Wendell can be a little shy and skittish). If anyone has the time or energy for these two please contact me. In case you missed this last week with the rush for the yard sale and Bryant Street fair - I will be meeting this week (June 8) at 10. Or, if you are interested, but can't make that, am meeting on July 8 at 10am also. Please email if you are interested. Here is my original email below. ++++++++++++++ I am trying again to set up a play-based preschool, so my 3 year old can have regular interaction with kids since so many of her friends are off in preschool, I can get a regular break from my lovely child, and I can at the same time avoid spending $2-500/month on preschool. :-) I'm looking to have a get to know you on June 8th for interested parties. I already have interest from possibly 3-4 people, so am only looking for 2-3 more 3-4 year old kids. If you want to share this with anyone you think might be interested, please feel free to do so! *What I'm thinking (not at all set in stone, but a jump off point for discussion):* *Ages: *3/4 year old preschool for the fall. *Days and times: *Monday and Friday, 9-12 or so *Number of kids: *6 (not including any siblings of parents on duty) *Venue: *Switching from house to house for each day *Who's in charge: *we are. 2 parents at a time - one host and one helper. If someone isn't willing to host at their house, but wants to participate, my helper day could also be at my house (so it would meet at my house twice during a 3 week cycle). *What does that look like: *Persons A, B, C, D, E, F Monday Friday Week 1 A Host/D Helper B Host/E Helper Week 2 C Host/F Helper D Host/A Helper Week 3 E Host/B Helper F Host/C Helper So each person has 2 days on duty out of 6 days of school. If you are the host, but your family is sick, then your helper would host and we would have a backup person as helper. Unless someone has a better idea. Host and helper plan the activities for the day together. *What would the kids do: *Here is what some of us came up with earlier this spring when we met to discuss this. Again, not set in stone, just a rough framework to discuss. 9am: Free play and arrival time 9:45: Activity (painting, clay, some other sort of craft) 10:15: Outside/large motor play 11: Snack 11:45 Story/song time 12: Pick up *Cost: *$5/day that goes to the host for the purchase of classroom supplies and snack. That is paid each day so no one has to do treasurer duties. *Field trips: *One day a month (or two!) we go on a field trip where all the kids and parents go together. Responsibility for organizing this rotates. *Do we have to be there every day: *I think it would be great if everyone were (barring sickness), but if it worked better for your family to plan on missing some, as long as you are NOT hosting or helping, I think there should be a lot of flexibility on this point. On the other hand, the kids benefit from a more or less regular arrangement of peers. *So what do I want from you? *If I can find out that enough people are interested, I'd like us all to get together to discuss whether or not this really seems doable. So I'd want to set a date. Maybe Wed, June 8th at 10am? Another option would be to have the discussion via email, but meet on the 8th for whomever is in town so we can get to know each other.
