HPers, I registered for this year's Pedal Pittsburgh (Sun May 22) for the 15 mile long trek but have since discovered I cannot make it. I contacted the CDCP and they said I could switch my registration to someone else so I thought I would try here to see if I could get any takers. [Highland Park] Highland Park Knitters and Crocheters Meeting Tomorrow!

Greetings! The Highland Park Knitters and Crocheters will be meeting Thursday, May 12 (today) from 7pm-8pm in the Union Project (801 N Negley) board room/atrium. There is $1 fee for all attendees to cover the cost of space rental. Members are asked to bring there own supplies for specific projects, but I will have a few skeins of yarn and needles (currently a lot of knitting needles) with me to be borrowed for those wishing to learn but who do not have their own supplies yet. All are welcome to attend! Our next meeting will be held May 26. We are selling our Burgundy 2004 Ford Freestar with only 56,000 miles!! It's been a great vehicle for us, but we are going auto-free for a while. New battery, new brakes and rotors, tires have less than 8000 miles on them, well-maintained, no issues. My favorite part about this van is that the back seat drops all the way into the body of the van when folded down, great for tailgating, hauling huge art pieces, or camping out ; )...even with the driver and 6 passengers in the vehicle, the storage space is amazing. $5600 or reasonable offer. In response to concerns about the extended hours of the Policy Training Academy Shooting Range, the Academy has organized a public meeting with area residents and Academy staff. The Asst. Chief of Administration, Councilwoman representing public safety, and a rep from Councilman Dowd's office are also expected to attend.
