Hi Since this is a bus stop for a lot of kids in the area, I just wanted to correlate two emails on the list serv that have appeared in the last few months. One was posted yesterday involving visibly intoxicated people harassing neighbors near this corner (note there are no bars over here), and another a few months ago regarding people shooting dope in a parked car (which was photographed by a neighbor and posted to the list). Clearly somebody is selling dope close to there. I hope that Zone 5 is actively investigating these reports. There are a lot of kids getting buses at that corner. Ethan Winograd Jackson Street

Update for Saturday December 3rd We had a great thanksgiving season at the market. Thanks to everyone who supported the market during the holiday and throughout the year. We will be open this Saturday, and will have a full contingent of farmers and vendors available. One of our challenges as a market is that many people think we close for the winter after the thanksgiving holiday. Of course we do not, we are open all year long, every Saturday. So we are asking all of our loyal customers to take one or two of our promotional post cards for the market and give it to friend or family member to let people know that we are open all winter. We will be passing out the cards this Saturday so thanks in advance for your support. One thing to note is that Peter Williams, farmer and proprieter of the Kew Park Coffee Estate in Westmoreland Jamaica will be visiting the market next Saturday, December 10th. More details in next weeks update. I spoke to a few of the farmers so read below for an update. Kistaco Farm Kistaco will have 12 varieties of apples this week. They will also have cider, fresh cooking greens and squash. I know I was too busy to make a pie over the holidays, so I cheated and bought one from the Kennedy's (which by the way was fabulous). But I picked up one of those fancy earthenware pie dishes from Williams Somona today and plan to make an apple pie this weekend. ********************************************************* Zang's Greenhouse Rick from Zang's Greenhouse will have a wide variety of local vegetables, including potatoes, mushrooms, leeks, onions and shallots. In the flower department, rick will have poinsettias, cyclamen, and Amaryllis. ********************************************************* Greenawalt Farm Locally grown items include turnips, potatoes, lots of squash. Of course eggs are always available. Brian picked up quite a bit of pine greens for decorating the house for the holidays- varieties include Blue Spruce and White Pine. ********************************************************* Kew Park Coffee Bar As mentioned, Peter Williams from Kew Park Coffee will be visiting the market next Saturday, December 10th. It has been over a year since Peter has visited, so we are really excited to have him. Jamaica is a long way off, so we really appreciate when Peter visits. After market, Peter and I plan to meet with a few local coffee roasters so that we can begin roasting the raw (green) beans locally here in Pittsburgh. We are very excited to reach this milestone. I will have more details in next weeks update. Cook Books for sale My father recently wrote and published a book called "Cookin"- a book on food and life. My father, was a big part of my inspiration and passion for food. So I really glad that he spent the time to put together his thought on life and food into a book. The Post-Gazette ran a nice little article on the book. We lost our sister-in-law, Muriel to CF last year, so we call the fondation Muriel's Breath of Life.. We will be selling books at the market. They are only $10, and we will donate an additional $15 to the foundation for each book sold. [Highland Park] Plycraft Eames style chair and ottoman sale

Plycraft was made in lawrence, Ma by george mulhauser, and my brown set is for sale. The chair has wheels but i suspect they can be easily removed. It's in overall good condition but could use some tlc., afterall, It was made in the 60's. Ive seen a huge variety of plycraft prices on the web so email me your best offer. Kimberly
