[Highland Park] Requesting help in Saving Public Libraries in a number of states

Dear Highland Parker neighbors, I'd appreciate your help (and that of your friends). As many of you know, I believe in public libraries and have authored a book, Saving Our Public Libraries: Why We Should. How We Can. Friday I launched a campaign to raise funding so I can give free copies of my book to as many US libraries as possible (using the fundraising site, kickstarter.com) I'm doing this because my book provides libraries with 184 pages of proven ways that they can successfully obtain more funding. Public libraries need this information, often desperately, because their budgets are being cut, sometimes by as much as two-thirds. At the same time, libraries are serving more and more people (including job hunters, kids, teens, seniors, and families) who need their services greatly in these challenging economic times. The information in my book has never been brought together before. Much of it has never even been published before. If 1,000 people donate only $10 each, I'll have the money I need to get my book to all the public libraries in two, or three, or more states. All donors will vote to decide which states receive the first copies of my book. Donors also receive rewards (some fun and some serious). That's how kickstarter works. It's a fun site that helps people raise money for creative projects. It's also an all-or-nothing site. Your donation is not charged to your credit card unless I meet my full funding goal. New Organza perfume by Givenchy. 1.7oz (50ml) (new not in box) and perfumed bath gel 6 3/4oz (500ml) - in box. - Asking $65 This set is priced at around $100 in Macys and other stores. The perfume alone is about $50. 2. Cute Worthington JC Penny pumps - "Apryl Purple". Size 8 1/2 W. Suede and leather, 3 shades of purple. Never worn, new in box. Original price was $65. Asking $20 3. Cute Worthington JC Penny pumps - same as above but color is black, light grey, and dark grey. New, not in box. Asking $15 since theres no box. 4. Cute Franco Sarto brown suede and patent leather pumps with buckle. Never worn size, not in box. 8m. Asking $15 5. Brown American Living JC Penny pumps. New, not in box. size 8.5. First of all I would like to thank those of you who have supported the HPCC with your t-shirt purchases! The proceeds will help fund events at the Bryant Street Festival. I have several size XL white T-shirts available and Rob Collins has graciously offered to make them available at the Bryant Street Market. [Highland Park] Copper Down Spout Theft- 1100 Block North Sheridan

A Copper downspout was stolen and a second one dislodged at our home in the 1100 block of North Sheridan. Theft occurred around 10:30 on Monday 12/19. My mother was returning from her walk at the reservoir and was in the 1200 block of Sheridan. She saw a white male in a white sweatshirt walk up our driveway. Thinking it was a delivery person, she hurried and as she approached the intersection of Sheridan and Bryant, the individual ran down our driveway with the downspout. He proceeded up Bryant Street( toward Heberton) to a dark colored van, threw the downspout in and sped away. She reported that it all happened so very quickly that she was unable to get the license plate number. Police have been notified.
