The inside of the dressers keeps detaching from the inside therefore they need some work, I am just tired of seeing them not get fixed. They are white and natural. [Highland Park] good dog needs a home

Dear Neighbors, My son moved to an apartment and I am temporarily caring for Sunshine, a six-year-old, 55-pound mixed breed female. (Her mother was a mix, looked like a a really large border collie but had some pit bull in her; her father was a purebred Rottweiler.) She is glossy black with Rott markings but not the bulk; is spayed, has all her shots (recent) and is, in my lifetime of living with dogs, probably the sweetest-natured go I've ever lived with. She is well-behaved, obedient, never any "accidents" in the house. Will walk nicely on a lead, has experienced "free" walking in Frick Park dog park without incident. She likes other dogs, has been exposed to only one child, a toddler to whom she reacted calmly and gently. We can't keep her for several reasons and must place her within two weeks or I will have to put her in a shelter, which I would hate to do. This is a great dog. Hi neighbors, If you're looking for something fun to do Saturday night (3/6), the Pittsburgh Minadeo Playground Committee is hosting a gala fundraiser to help build a much-needed playground! There are two ways to take part: 1) Full Gala: Festivities begin at 5pm with delicious light fare and a complimentary first cocktail at Olive or Twist (www.olive-twist.com) where you can enjoy a silent auction and the sounds of some of Pittsburgh's finest jazz musicians. At 7pm, the gala continues at Pittsburgh CAPA. A harpist will entertain you as you wait for the grand finale: members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (myself included) will play a concert from 7:30 to 8:30pm. Enjoy dessert and coffee following the performance. Tickets to the entire gala are 50 dollars each and donations are graciously accepted. 2) Concert only: join the fun just for the concert, starting at 7:30pm at CAPA. Tickets for the concert alone are only $20. Cash or check accepted at the door. This is a fantastic program offered at Schenley Park at the Bob O'Connor golf course. I always thought of golf as a country-club-for-old or rich guys activity (sorry!), but the coaches at First Tee really make golf accessible to all kids and even appealing to the adults involved. It is also very reasonably priced and there is no need for the kids to own their own clubs. If you homeschool or cyber school, they also have daytime classes for homeschooling families. I strongly recommend this program! (Nope - I'm not on the Board or on they payroll.) Pittsburgh, PA March 1, 2010 - Peter Yarrow, well-known American folk singer of the group Peter, Paul and Mary, will perform a concert at East Liberty Presbyterian Church (116 S. Highland Avenue) on Monday, March 15th at 7:00 PM. The concert is free to the public and an offering will be collected during the performance to benefit East End Cooperative Ministry's Have a Heart for Hunger campaign. Donation of non-perishable food items for EECM's Food Pantry is also encouraged. The Have a Heart for Hunger campaign (February 14 - March 31, 2010) raises funds for and awareness about the Hunger Services provided by East End Cooperative Ministry, including a Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels program. Altogether, EECM's Hunger Programs provide food and support to more than 4,000 men, women, and children each year.
