Hello Neighbors - I am looking for your recommendations for an independent financial advisor and/or planner. I am not interested in someone who is tied to a product or banking on making a commission selling their company's mutual fund du jour. I am looking for someone who for a fee will assist me in straightening out my various abandoned employer based 401K type accounts that need to be rolled over, converted to Roths, etc. (and dealing with the tax consequences), and also help me to plan for long term goals (retirement, etc.). Hi. I have some stuff to give away on my porch. Diaper champ trash can. This can takes regular bags. car seat for babies thru toddlers. Don't know the exact poundages. metal twin bed frame with wheels and hooks for a headboard oil pan for changing your own oil in your car All will need cleaned; they were in my basement, except the bed frame. I also have a huge cardboard box out back. Very sturdy, held the materials for a walk in backyard shed. Will be picked up Monday for recycle. Let me know if you are interested. Meg

Dear Neighbors The Stanton/Sheridan Avenue tree planting is rapidly approaching. We have 50 trees to plant! We hope you can help make our neighborhood more beautiful. When: November 6, 2010 at 9 am (rain or shine)! Where: Meet at corner of Stanton Ave and Heberton St. Who: Everyone! Children 8 or older are welcome to help with a responsible adult. There will be activities for younger children. Misc: Lunch and snacks will be provided. Wear work clothes. Volunteers needed for: 1. Help planting 2. Sitting at registration desk 3. Hi Neighbors! I wanted to let you know about an awesome LOCAL corn maze happening this month! Mish Farms in Gibsonia is having a Fall Festival - with corn maze, hay rides, kids area and great food! They are just 15 miles north of here...up Rt. 8, at 80 Oak Road, Gibsonia. It runs through October 31st and the hours are: Friday 2-8pm Saturday 11am - 8pm Sunday 11am - 6pm Adults $7; youth (3-10) $5; Under 3 FREE! Hope you'll come out and have some fun!! [Highland Park] Ceramic pumpkin carving TODAY and TOMORROW 3-6pm

Hello Neighbors, It's not too late to join in the pumpkin carving fun at Union Project (corner of Stanton and Negley) *today and tomorrow from 3-6pm*. Everyone is welcome, even if you haven't signed up. You may choose from small or large hollow pumpkin forms, each individually hand-made by a member of the Union Project Ceramics Co-op. They will be in the "leather-hard" state, meaning that they are firm to the touch, yet soft enough to be carved with a knife, just like a real pumpkin! After being carved, the pumpkin will be dried and fired in our kiln to almost 2000 degrees, and when you pick it up a week later, it will be a permanent jack-o-lantern, safe for inside and outside use.
