[Highland Park] Walk in the Woods

Neighbors, Please join your fellow neighbors for a Walk in the Woods on Wednesday evening, July 23, 2008 at 6:30pm. We start and end at the fountain and walk in the woods as much as we can. The walk is fun for everyone including dogs and children but keep in mind that paths and steps can be uneven, and maybe even muddy if there is rain. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy sponsors this free Walk in the Woods which is meant to be fun and informative. [Highland Park] Looking for early morning jogging partners

Hello. I've lost 25 pounds since January, mostly through a stationary bike and smaller portions. However, I need to take it to the next level. I recently started jogging around the reservoir, but I find it difficult to push myself. . So, I'm looking for 5:30AM jogging partners to keep my weight loss going. Any semi-seasoned joggers who are out in the early AM and looking for others to run with? Or, is anyone interested in starting a physical training club to do sit-ups and push-ups, followed by a run around the reservoir or around the neighborhood? [Highland Park] weight bench for sale

This weight bench is the APEX 750. It was purchased about 3 years ago and is in excellent condition. It's currently disassembled so that it can be moved in a small car; we paid $250 for it new and we're selling it for $125. We can deliver! It looks almost exactly like this picture except that it does not have the tall black bar with the shoulder pull.

Hi Neighbors: My computer (only 4 years old) took a hit when we had the power surge this week. I contacted Steve Karl (412) 441-4349 from the Highland Park Computer Repair list to possibly repair my machine. He answered ALL my questions (over days) on the phone and internet at no charge. He also gave me various things to try first at my home at no charge. When they did not work, he came to our home and PICKED UP the computer at no charge. Within TWO HOURS, he had RETURNED the machine to our home. It had a new power supply (which was the problem), he had cleaned it up (running very slowly), and had installed new anti-virus software too!!! He provided us with an explanation of everything and how to keep it running well. He charges ONLY $35.00 per hour for his labor, plus parts costs, which is EXTREMELY reasonable! Also, at our request, he also gave us recommendations for surge protectors and other equipment. We would HIGHLY recommend Steve Karl for your computer needs/issues. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and also a very nice guy!!!

I received a lot of replies to my inquiry - but my inquiry obviously wasn't clear. My friends dont want to kill the bats, they merely want a professional to get rid of them, however it is the professionals do it. (I guess exterminator was the wrong professional to ask for, for this type of issue) They're an older couple who have a huge home with very high roof which will require scaffolding to get to where they've seen the bats dropping out of, so it can be properly sealed after the bats fly out. I appreciate all the info and links everyone provided. [Highland Park] gunshots this morning

I live on Wayne Rd. with my backyard on Jackson, very near the Jackson and N. Euclid intersection. At 4 p.m. this morning, we heard a series of gunshots that seemed to come from a semi-automatic hand gun. The shots were so loud, and so distinct, they seemed as if they were right in my backyard. I heard no cars, no people, and never heard police sirens. Did anyone else hear this? Anyone know what was going on? It was very, very frightening..... Maryann Moore
