Dear neighbors, Thanks to everyone who replied to my request for glass block window work. There were several people who wanted to know what recommendations I received, so here is the list: Kind regards, Rebecca Portland Street ****************************************************** We have used Vince Mirror and Glass for our repairs for quite a few years now. Vince seems to work solely on his own, but he is expedient and his prices are really reasonable. We had about 6 blocks repaired in 2007 for $350 which included materials and labor. The repair is barely noticeable except for the new caulking. His number is 412-931-4994. *********************************************************** monroeville glass block. they have done many for me **************************************************************** We used Pittsburgh Glass Brick Co in 2004. Our basement had block window, but we wanted vents, so we replaced 3 windows with glass-block-vent-windows.. In the laundry room, we had a regular glass window and replaced it with a block window for the dryer. The cost in 10/04 was $520--parts and labor. ************************************************************* would recommend Andy (I forget his last name). I moved into my house on Heberton in January and got him to work on a large set of 2 windows in my basement the very next day. He took about 4 hours to do the window (block by block - he doesn't believe in prefabricated units). He is priced very reasonably and is very professional. posting this again for my neighbor.....does anyone have a cat they are missing? there's a small gray tiger striped cat that has been in their backyard on farragut street since saturday. its a very friendly and cute cat, we did find out it's a male. if you know of anyone who's cat this is, please call jan at 412-363-8208, as they are allergic to the cat and can't keep it. thank you **************Gas prices getting you down? [Highland Park] Walk in the Woods

Neighbors, Please join me for a Walk in the Woods on Wednesday evening, June 25, 2008 at 6:30pm. We start and end at the fountain and walk in the woods as much as we can. The walk is fun for everyone including dogs and children but keep in mind that paths and steps can be uneven, and maybe even muddy if there is rain. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy sponsors this free Walk in the Woods which is meant to be fun and informative.
