[Highland Park] changes to recycling pickup

The city is now picking up corrugated cardboard, paperboard, magazines, catalogs and phone books for recycling in our neighborhood. Just put your stuff in blue bags. Corrugated cardboard boxes need to be flattened and tied. Yes they will take pizza boxes. This is really great, and the city should be commended. You will be amazed at how much this can cut down your garbage every week. Paperboard is stuff like cereal boxes. Look in your pantry and you will see it is full of this stuff. Please take advantage of this new service, god knows we pay enough taxes for it. Here is a link to the details on this program. [Highland Park] Need Apartment

My husband and I are looking for a 1-2 bedroom apartment to rent in the Highland Park area beginning in July. The apartment has to allow pets. We have a miniature dachshund, 4 years old. We would like to keep our rent around 650-700 a month with heat included. I'll be pursuing my PhD and my husband will have just graduated from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. We are very quiet and have no kids. Thanks.

Hi Neighbors.... There is no word yet of Senator Clinton's office in Pittsburgh, but Senator Obama's Western Pa office is in our neighborhood at 208 N. Highland Ave. We can sign up to volunteer and/or take a bus ride to Ohio on March 4th to help canvass for him.
