Anthony Coccia of "Anthony's Original Italian Ice" died a few months ago, so sadly this will be the first summer in a long time during which we won't see him near the park entrance with his Italian ice cart. Greetings, I just wanted to give everyone a "heads up" that you have a local community member that specializes in Computer ( PC ) Support and repairs and also has a "quick answer" help desk that is a local number, ( I'm on Winterton St. ... not in Asia ! ) for existing clients. My name is Steve Karl and I run and maintain the Pittsburgh PC Help Desk which can be found at: http://www.sightsea.com/pghpchd/ My "pet peeve" ::: New Computers that run very poorly because that "name brand company" put all that junk-ware in the machine. I've gotten really good at cleaning them up and making them perform well. Free Anti-Virus software that out performs the "2 big sellers" and is very "light weight" and easy on your PC. Initial phone consult is no charge, and most "quick calls" from existing clients are also no charge. Hardware repair / replacement also. [Highland Park] Donations for women's shelter?

We have some baby items (diapers, blankets, pacifiers, formula) and some mom items (lotion, hair products, woman's clothing) that we don't need for various reasons. I was wondering if anyone knows of any local women's shelter or other East End location that could use some or all of these items. Most were gifts that we can't use, and I'd like them to go to people who really need them. Thanks, Amy

[Highland Park] refrigerator will be available for pick-up

Dear HP Neighbors, We are replacing our aging Amana refrigerator 69x28 deep including handles by 36 wide. Side by side with water and ice on the outside of the door. It works fine but some plastic door hanging containers are broken as is large plastic front plate for a section in the freezer that holds meat or whatever you want to use it for. There is some other minor damage - door handle plastic piece is also broken and should be replaced. We have a delivery scheduled for sometime this week. [Highland Park] Lost pink codsmetic case

My husband and I were up at the park today, Sunday, April 29, from about 3:30 to 4:15 and we think we dropped a small pink flowered padded cosmetic case that I had been using to carry my digital camera. The camera was not in it, but I believe one of the wires I need to download the pictures was, plus possibly some AA batteries and possibly the case to the SD card. We had walked the circuit of the reservoir including the inlets, and the flower beds and the knoll above the reservoir and the phone booth. We retraced all of our steps before leaving the park, but we didn't find it. If you find it, please give me a call at 412-215-9631. You can call anytime, 24 hours; we shut the phone when we sleep.
